There was a great little film that came out during the height of the Cold War and probably long before many of you were twinkles in your parents' eyes. It was a comedy, and, frankly, most of America went to see it because all-American blonde Andrea Dromm, who was the face of National Airlines' 'Is this anyway to run an airline?' ad campaign, had scored herself a small part. Our family went because Jonathan Winters was in the cast, as well as Brian Keith.
I mean, what's not to love already?
So the story breaks down as the crew of a Russian sub patrolling off the East Coast wants to take an actual look at the US, only their sneaky peek runs them aground on a smallish island off Nantucket. The captain sends a party of nine, with the somewhat English competent Lieutenant Rozanov (Alan Arkin) in charge, to go see if they can find a couple of boats to pull them off the sand. Of course, it goes all wrong.
To distract the islanders, who are now pretty convinced they're the first phase of a Russian invasion, Arkin tries to school his shipmates how to clear the streets in English. This way they can create a diversion, steal a boat, hotfoot back to the sub, and get gone like they were never there.
EMAIRGENCY! EMAIRGENCY! EVERYBODY TO GET FROM STREET!
This is what NBC News is doing, and, as they never do anything without the rest following, I anticipate the remainder of the mainstream media will shortly be intoning to distract from the Russiagate disclosures.
Only instead of 'EMAIRGENCY!' they are crying 'REWRITING HISTORY TO DISTRACT FROM EPSTEIN!' in a frantic effort to get gone like they were never there.
Trump's intelligence chiefs try to rewrite the history of the 2016 election
Five years ago, Marco Rubio said there was "irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling.” Now, Tulsi Gabbard says that claim is “treasonous" and should be criminally investigated.
President Donald Trump’s intelligence chiefs are conducting a systematic campaign to rewrite the history of the 2016 election, seeking to reverse an eight-year-old assessment that Russia waged an information war to boost Trump’s candidacy.
National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard and CIA Director John Ratcliffe have cited declassified emails to allege in social media posts and television appearances that Obama administration officials manipulated intelligence and conspired to undermine the legitimacy of Trump’s electoral victory in 2016.
But a bipartisan Senate investigation in 2020 and a recent CIA review both found that Russia interfered in the 2016 election, launching a disinformation campaign designed to damage Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s candidacy.
A three-year investigation by special counsel John Durham reported no criminal conspiracy by Obama administration officials to sabotage Trump, and Durham filed no charges against CIA officials.
There isn't a bigger, more pathetic attempt at diversion than this.
...The allegations from Trump’s intelligence chiefs come when he faces demands from many of his supporters to release files linked to financier Jeffrey Epstein. Democratic lawmakers accused the administration of seeking to distract from the Epstein case and to “rewrite” history for partisan purposes.
Gabbard and now whistleblowers coming forward aren't 'rewriting' history, as she's proven with these releases. This isn't opinion - these are all memos, emails, and documents authored and often leaked surreptitiously to the media by the very people the press and network news organizations are desperate to deflect from.
As for the grandstanding that 'Rubio signed off on in 2017,' of course, he did. What intelligence did he have access to during the Senate investigation? Who were the intelligence assessments provided by?
The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) is conducting a bipartisan investigation into a wide range of Russian activities relating to the 2016 U.S. presidential election. While elements of the investigation are ongoing, the Committee is releasing initial, unclassified findings on a rolling basis as distinct pieces of the investigation conclude.
The Committee has concluded an in-depth review of the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) produced by CIA, NSA, and FBI in January of 2017 on Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election (Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent U.S. Elections; declassified version released January 6, 2017) and have initial findings to share with the American people.
- The ICA was a seminal intelligence product with significant policy implications. In line with its historical role, the Committee had a responsibility to conduct an in-depth review of the document.
- In conducting its examination, the Committee reviewed thousands of pages of source documents and conducted interviews with all the relevant parties—including agency heads, managers, and line analysts—who were involved in developing the analysis and drafting the assessment.
- The Committee is preparing a comprehensive, classified report detailing our conclusions regarding the ICA on Russian activities. That report, when complete, will be submitted for a classification review, and the unclassified version will be released to the public.
None other than the happy gang of co-conspirators.
Oh.
But Epstein, right?
These seditious 'public servants' were knee-deep in manipulating intelligence, ruining lives, and constructing villainous fabrications in order to subvert the express will of the people and fatally cripple the rightful governing powers of a duly elected administration. They formed a subversive shadow government scheming within the bowels of the bureaucracy, aided by their willing propaganda partners in the press and on air.
The media couldn't wait for the next filthy Foggy Bottom tidbit to drop.
The press salivated unquestioningly at every 'revelation,' printing or reporting breathlessly, and gang stomped anyone who dared question the narrative they were so carefully constructing and the heroes of 'The Resistance' they were so carefully grooming for public consumption.
Only, they weren't careful enough. Harris LOST and the documents Gabbard was never meant to find aren't a fairytale spun in a hotel room and covered with urine.
NBC News and its ilk, however, are sure covered with something similar.
And everyone knows it.
