People have doubts about her veracity on any number of topics, particularly concerning her involvement with the FBI plot to organize her kidnapping.

But Whitmer's time for lording it over MI has run out and she has aspirations on a national stage with a rival in lousy governance in the person of Gavin Newsom standing in her way.
Perhaps forewarned by the results of the November elections and the seismic shift among the young male demographic, Whitmer seems to have an inkling that her shrill, aggressive, polarizing advocacy of the hard left's favorite causes won't carry her to the race, less mind the finish line. She needs to begin softening her approach and working on some sort of outreach to the conservatively minded males of the species she so obviously holds in little regard.
She gave that 'kinder, gentler Whitmer' its first shot at her state-of-the-state speech Wednesday night.
Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer made a direct appeal to young men who shifted sharply to the right in the most recent election in a speech Wednesday in which she continued to call for each major party to work across the aisle.
Whitmer delivered her speech just days after sitting next to President Donald Trump at a White House dinner and reiterated her hope to find common ground with him. As a potential 2028 presidential candidate with a national profile built on advocating for women’s rights, Whitmer emphasized that her message was directed “to all young people, but especially to our young men.”
“The last thing any of us wants is a generation of young men falling behind their fathers and grandfathers,” Whitmer said.
Sure, gov - I'm sure no one will remember you doing everything in your power as an elected leader to make sure young men did precisely that - fall so far behind they're out of the picture. You have had no trouble shoving young men aside and marginalizing them at every opportunity in favor of anything but.
Her big plan is pathetic gruel, too.
...Whitmer nodded to areas where women have outpaced men in recent years, including educational achievement and home-buying. She said twice as many women are enrolling in a state program for tuition-free community college as men.
Republican House Speaker Matt Hall said after Whitmer’s speech that she is trying to figure out “what is the right message to try to bring men back to the Democratic Party.”
“The rhetoric is great, but the record has to match that,” Hall said.
Whitmer pledged to sign an executive order to boost young men’s enrollment in education and skill-training programs.

Whitmer hasn't the first clue how to bring the boys back, and it's laughable to think that she believes, 'Hey, we'll pay for you to go to plumber's school!' is a terrific first step to mending that relationship.
Then again, I will thank my lucky stars that every Democrat who sniffs around being a contender has proven to be equally as clueless and worthless.
