Waiting for Gadot and Woke Snow

I know you all have been wondering what happened to our Princess of Peeve (interviewed here with co-star Gal Gadot), our winsome wordsmith of Woke wisdom – smug Disney Snow White come to life, Rachel Zegler.

Well, she’s world weary of being criticized for being loud and proud. She’s a victim of her own boldness.

…In a quote she provided The Wrap for her feature in its 2023 “Latino Power List,” the actress of Colombian and Polish descent acknowledged “backlash” she has gotten for her “outspokenness.” The statement follow months of backlash the actress received for her comments on how outdated the original animated “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves” was.

Not apologizing for courting any controversy, Zegler’s statement indicated that she believes the pushback and criticism she has received are what comes with her being “fearless and loud” to earn her place in Hollywood.

She began by telling the outlet, “It’s an honor to be recognized in a way that both celebrates our heritage and lifts up the contributions we all make to this industry, where it can be particularly hard for us to be seen and heard in a meaningful way.”

She sighed heavily. Her plaintive appeal after running her jibs, dissing and dishing on the beloved 90 year old classic she was privileged to play the heroine of, caused an enormous amount of consternation in people who fondly remembered a charming love story.

…Zegler responded to similar comments on X in August, posting, “I hope the world becomes kinder.

We’d hoped she’d gotten smarter, humbler, grateful for the opportunity…but alas.

That, like acting, seems to be beyond her ken.

Disney has offered a peek at their petulant princess in an effort to keep the ticket buying public interested in this rolling trainwreck of a remake…

…even as the company announces they’ve…errr…lengthened the induced slumber number for the release. There’s no word if box office poison had anything to do with it.

Disney’s Snow White will have to wait a little longer before hitting the big screen.

The release date for the live-action reimagining, which stars West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler as the titular princess, was pushed from March 22, 2024, to March 21, 2025.

A first-look image shared Friday shows Zegler, 22, in character and surrounded by Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, Sleepy and Doc. The movie will feature new songs from The Greatest Showman’s Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

This chick is just nails-on-a-blackboard off-putting.

I also noticed the revamped “7 magical creatures” suddenly resemble…are those dwarves again?

Well, knock me over with a feather.

Looks like I’m not the only one wondering if changes were coming because of the extraordinary chorus of opprobrium washing over every single facet of this woke af production, compounded by a constant flow of ruinous publicity.

It could be a good sign, or it could be a fake out. In the first place, if they fired all 7 actors and CGI’d dwaves as opposed to actually HIRING dwarf actors? How messed up is that?!

I hope the dwarf actors lobby eats them alive.

Secondly, isn’t Kathleen Kennedy still there?

‘South Park’ Blames Kathleen Kennedy for ‘Why Disney Movies All Suck Now’

…At first blush, that may make her an odd choice as “South Park’s” latest boogeyman. But buckle up because that’s just the beginning of this particular rollercoaster.

Paramount+’s “Joining the Panderverse” starts with Cartman waking up with a nightmare in which he and all of his friends have been replaced by queer adult women of color as Bob Iger’s stock falls. He begs his mom to check under his bed to make sure “no Disney executives are under there,” namely Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy.

But as is often the case with “South Park,” what starts as a silly take on the irrational fears and anger of fanboys is pushed to its absolute limits. As the special progresses, Cartman swaps places with his multiverse counterpart, a Black woman who acts identically to him. And it’s all Kathleen Kennedy’s fault.

In the special, Kennedy and Disney CEO Bob Iger eventually reveal that they’ve been using a device known as the Pander Stone, “an ancient piece of artificial intelligence that could be used to make the same movies over and over again while appealing to absolutely everyone,” Kennedy explains.

Iger’s stock is tanking, and I’m not getting my hopes up any of it gets straightened out if she is.

South Park usually has it called right.
