It’s conversation I’ll never forget. In the fall of 2018, an old high school friend of mine asked to meet for lunch in Georgetown. She wanted to get together together after the insanity of the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination, which had just ended. One comment she saw online had particularly disturbed her: “It’s amazing no one was killed during this whole thing.”
As we sat together at a table near M Street, I said it: “This isn’t over. We are dealing with an American Stasi that will stop at nothing. They are going to opposition research the justices and will encourage violence and maybe even partake in assassinations.”
My friend laughed at me. I was being paranoid, and it was no mystery why. I had been near the center of the Kavanaugh battle. The left had tried to destroy me, and the evil media had slandered me. There had been death threats, extortion attempts and a sexual honey trap. I was going to have PTSD and looking over my shoulder the rest of my life. Of course I was rattled and would be reliving the horror of 2018.
Except it wasn’t just reliving the horror - it was and isa sane warning that the left isn’t done. For a couple years after 2018 I was told to get over it, to get on with life, that I was traumatized and needed help. Then protestors showed up at Brett Kavanaugh’s house, and the Secret Service and police did absolutely nothing to enforce the law and get rid of them. Then one of them showed up in a car with a gun and the plan to kill Justice Kavanaugh. It was 2022 and I was finishing my book The Devil’s Triangle about my ordeal with the new American Stasi. I had an intense argument with my editor. He wanted me to write about the attempt on Kavanaugh, but it was just too emotional for me. This was a loved high school friend. It was just too painful to write about.
In the end I did. My editor convinced me that the word had to go out - the left is dangerous and needed to be called out and stopped. On top of that, the fact that I was using the German Stasi as an analog to the American left was inspired. Unlike the Nazis, who tended to distrust things like modern art and jazz, the Stasi worked with artists, writers and entertainers, who all became wiling pawns to propagandize the masses. The Stasi spied on everyone, manipulated the fatherless, and would not abide fun of any kind, even jokes. They hated punk rock. Our modern American Stasi is the same, right down to telling us what music we can and cannot listen to and what books we are allowed to read.
So I called the American Stasi out. Since then the left has created what one anti-communist movie from the 1950s called “a hellbrew of hate” - an environment of demented rage so intense that it results in violence. Their opposition research of SCOTUS has made Justice Clarence Thomas a target. All because these narcissistic children are not getting their way.
Now they have made an attempt on former President Donald Trump. Taken together, the events over the last few years are starting to resemble the assassination teams that operated in East Germany. As was reported in the Guardian, the victim sof these squads included “a Swedish journalist, a CIA agent, an East German football star who defected to the west and a Hamburg businessman whose body was found in a bag, as well as numerous political dissidents. According to German police, the assassin has been linked with the unsolved murder of a Swedish television journalist, Cats Falk, and her friend Lena Grans. The two young women disappeared in November 1984. Their bodies were retrieved six months later from a Stockholm canal. According to German prosecutors, the assassin was a member of a three-man ‘killer team’, which secretly travelled from East Germany to Sweden. The agents met the women in a restaurant, and then slipped a substance into their meal that paralyzed them. They then dumped the women's bodies in a car, pushed it into the water. Swedish police concluded the women had died accidentally.”
Yes, to me this has been personal - but Americans are insane to laugh off my warnings, as my high school friend did in Georgetown several years ago. The left has become a mixture of Marxist revolutionary rage and narcissist personality disorder. It is a combustive combination that mixes Stalin, Mao, the Stasi and mental illness.
I pray to God that in November Americans take away their power.
