I went to visit her every day. The visits were filled with love and laughter the last few years, but not in the beginning. Mom was an ebullient and social person and like most people did not want to be away from home, it was my job to help her make the transition. 

It was fairly smooth, but there was one day that still brings painful memories. I had taken mom to visit one of her oldest friends. They were having a small party at the house, and mom was having a great time. After a couple hours, however, it was time to go back to the facility, Mom cursed me out on the ride back - I was a jerk and she was not going to forgive me for this, how dare I escort her out of the party before she was ready to go. Of course, it was the dementia taking, She had a good dinner at the memory care facility, was well cared for, and had a nice place to sleep. The next day she was herself.

Joe Biden has dementia. Everybody knows it. Even his outbursts of strafing anger are not him being “fiery” and “tough” but frustration that he can’t find the right words and his brain doesn’t seem to be working. Joe Biden is sick.

Pat Buchanan was once asked about a political rival who had just passed away. Refusing the easy shot, Buchanan said, “When God puts his hand on someone, I take mine off.” Most of us who are human are ready to take our hands off Joe Biden and let him quietly fade away. The person who won’t let him is his wife Jill, who is so addicted to power that she would roll her husband around in a wheelbarrow if it came to that. Seeing her shuffle him around stages is sickening.

When dealing with a loved one with dementia, we all will come to the moment I came to with my mother. She wanted to stay at the party, but I was now her caregiver, not the other way around. I wasn’t about to let her overstay at a social event where she could accidentally soil herself, fall asleep, or God forbid, something worse. I had to be the parent to a person who I loved more than anything else in the world but who had become a child, 

God wants to put his hand in Joe Biden, Jill Biden will not let him.

I’m not a saint, but anyone who would prop up a loved one all day, never mind as part of the most stressful job on Earth, prop up a loved suffering an illness that requires patience and care and a lot of naps, is a monster.

Joe Biden doesn’t know what he is doing. He is no longer with us.
