President Biden has been focused on winning back black voters that polls show he is currently losing in his bid for re-election. For more than a week, black voters have been his sole focus during campaign events. 

Today Biden delivered the commencement address at Morehouse College. The alma mater of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. has a long history of political activism. It is in Atlanta, an important city to Biden, with Georgia being a swing state now in presidential elections. Biden needs to win Georgia in November and so far he trails Trump there. 

This was Biden's first appearance on a college campus since the pro-Hamas campus demonstrations began around the country. Instead of using his bully pulpit as president, Biden has remained silent and absent. Unfortunately, the Israeli war against Hamas exposed what an empty-suit career politician Joe Biden is. He is lacking in firm principles and sways with the wind. 

Biden began with strong support of Israel immediately after the October 7, 2023, massacres by Hamas. As time goes by, his support weakens. Biden has thrown Netanyahu and Israel under the bus several times in public remarks. Who knows how many times he has done so in private remarks? Hamas cheers Biden's inability to lead. Iran applauded the pro-Hamas demonstrators and declared they are winning. 

A demand of useful idiots in the Hamas caucus of the Democrat Party and among the protesters is an immediate and permanent ceasefire. That is a death wish for Israel. Israel didn't start this war. Hamas did. On October 7 there was a ceasefire in place. The problem is that Hamas does not honor ceasefires. The only way to end the war is for Hamas to release all the hostages being held in Gaza and destroy Hamas. There is no peace with Hamas in existence. 

In places like Dearborn, Michigan, there are large groups of Muslim Arab American voters. In Michigan, there is a strong movement to deny Biden his re-election in November. Biden has to win Michigan. So, he has been bending over backward to pander to Muslim voters, including giving Netanyahu and Israel the back of his hand. 

Biden is withholding munitions shipments to Israel and threatening to stop financial support if Netanyahu runs his war effort to win. It would be one thing if Biden knew what he was talking about in conducting a war but it has been painfully proven that Biden is clueless. Look back at Biden's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Look at his hesitancy to act in support of Ukraine when Putin began rattling his sabers. Biden said a little incursion would be acceptable. Acceptable to him, maybe, but not to the Ukrainians. Biden is a feckless coward. He leads from behind. 

Biden is losing support in all of the traditional Democrat voting blocs. One group in particular is on the Biden campaign's agenda - black voters, especially black men. Black women seem to be blindly going along with Biden but black men are not. The latest Fox News poll shows what other polls have recently shown. Support among black voters for Biden is noticeably down from 2020.

In the latest Fox News poll, covering May 10 - 13, Biden's support among black voters is down.  Biden's support now is at 72%. In October 2020, his support was at 79%. Biden is down 9.5% with black voters. Trump is on the rise. He is at 23% now, while he had 14% in 2020. This is alarming to Team Biden. If Trump's support with black voters continues as it is now in polls, Biden will lose the election. The question will be whether or not black voters are fed up enough with being taken for granted by Democrats. Will they go ahead and vote for Biden despite their anger or disappointment with his time in office?

During his speech at Morehouse, the pander continued. He called for an immediate ceasefire. Then, as if it was a second thought, he called for the release of the hostages. There are still 8 Americans being held hostage in Gaza. Joe Biden should be yelling from the rooftops every day about that. Instead, there is silence. His political ambitions are more important to him than serving the American people and doing his job. He just wants the power and the office.

 At Morehouse, it is reported that 10 students and 1 facility member protested Biden's presence by turning their backs to him. Valedictorian DeAngelo Fletcher, had the Palestinian flag affixed to his stole and his graduation cap. He called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.

Young voters supported Biden in 2020. Their support is shifting. In 2020, Biden received 63% support. Now he is at 49%. Biden pandered to both black voters and young voters today at Morehouse. Did he sway the young black men?

Before the ceremony today, the school leadership said that demonstrations would not be tolerated during Biden's speech. The message must have been received by those inside the building. Outside demonstrators were doing their thing. 

In his remarks, Biden ticked through his administration's policies that he said have aided Black Americans, including a record $16 billion in new aid for HBCUs.

And, in a nod to the Pro-Palestian sentiment among Morehouse students and faculty, Biden reiterated his calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, more humanitarian aid in the region and support for a two-state solution between Israel and a Palestinian state.

“We’ve been working on a deal as we speak. Working around the clock to lead an international effort to get more aid into Gaza, and rebuild Gaza. I’m also working around the clock for more than just one ceasefire. I’m working to bring the region together. Working to build a lasting, durable peace,” he said.

See what I mean? Where is the demand for the release of the hostages? All of the hostages. There is no such thing as a two-state solution while Hamas exists. 

As far as delivering more money to HBCUs, it was former President Trump who made the renewal of HBCU federal grants permanent. Until he did that, HBCUs had to apply annually for federal money. 

Biden is off to Detroit after Atlanta today.
