Inquiring minds want to know – why was Nancy Pelosi served a subpoena, as she reported on Wednesday? This development was acknowledged when the House Clerk read Pelosi’s statement.
Pelosi reported to the House of Representatives that she was served a subpoena “to produce documents in a criminal case” in California. It is standard procedure for a member to report being issued a subpoena related to a civil or criminal matter.
“This is to notify you formally pursuant to Rule Eight of the rules of the House of Representatives, that I, the Honorable Nancy Pelosi, Speaker Emerita, and U.S. Representative for the 11th Congressional District of California, have been served with third party subpoenas from the prosecution and the defendant to produce documents in a criminal case and United States District Court for the Northern District of California,” Pelosi’s statement read.
“After consultation with the Office of General Counsel, I have determined that compliance with the subpoenas is consistent with the privileges and of the House to the extent it requires production of non-privileged information. The responses to the subpoenas will be identical,” it added.
Pelosi has not publicly commented to which case the subpoena is connected. The man who attacked her husband, Paul Pelosi, in a home invasion last year is set to go on trial this month but it is unclear if the subpoena has anything to do with that case.
Meanwhile, it is business as usual for San Fran Gran Nan in Washington, D.C. She endorsed Rep. Adam Schiff in his bid for the U.S. Senate seat left vacant with the death of Senator Dianne Feinstein. Pelosi appears in two ads for Schiff that were released Wednesday.

The ads appear on Instagram and Facebook. They will continue to run through November when the Democrat Party holds its endorsing convention in Sacramento.
Pelosi and 14 other Democrat members of the House from California endorsed Schiff in February. Since then, the total number of House Representatives from California to endorse Schiff is 22.
The mayor of Burbank, where Schiff lives, withdrew his endorsement of Schiff this week due to Schiff’s support of Israel in the Israel-Hamas war.
Democrat Representatives Katie Porter and Barbara Lee are in the primary race with Schiff. Pelosi’s endorsement has given a boost to Schiff’s campaign. On the Republican side, former Major League Baseball player Steve Garvey, businessman James Bradley and attorney Eric Early are battling for the nomination.
This week Pelosi also endorsed Hudson Valley (NY) Democrat Mondaire Jones to take on incumbent Republican Rep. Mike Lawler. Also running in the Democrat primary is Liz Whitmer Gereghty, a business owner and the sister of rising Democratic star Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. That might get awkward. You hate to see it happen.
Now we wait to see if Pelosi’s subpoena is connected to that crazy home invasion case where her husband was severely injured and hospitalized with a brain injury, among other injuries.
