Former Rep. Mayra Flores has family members trapped in Israel, wanting to return home. The Biden administration has not announced any plans to evacuate American citizens.
Right now, I have family members stuck in Israel with no way of getting out.
The Biden Administration has no plans to evacuate United States citizens from Israel.
I am praying for their safety and evacuation—because apparently that’s all our country can do at this point.— Mayra Flores (@MayraFlores_TX) October 10, 2023
I can confirm that at this time State Department has no plan to evacuate US citizens in Israel.

Welp. Heck of a job, Team Biden. As other countries successfully rescue their citizens from Israel and bring them home, the Biden administration recommends that American citizens go to a page on the State Department’s website to request help.
For U.S. citizens who want to leave Israel, commercial flights are available even if they are not direct to the U.S. We are also exploring contract options to facilitate U.S. citizen travel to nearby countries, and will provide updates to U.S. citizens who have registered via our online form: http://cacms.state.gov/s/crisis-intake.

The State Department will help Americans with transportation home but they have to sign a promissary note.

Florida Republican Rep. Cory Mills talked to Fox News on Wednesday and explained about his efforts to bring Americans home from Israel. He helped rescue 32 Americans trapped in Israel after the war began with Hamas. The Iraq war veteran (82nd Airborne Division) couldn’t give specifics on his mission or location. He did say his work is not done. He’s doing what the Biden administration has failed to do.
Some Americans had found themselves stuck in areas that now lack a “permissible environment” for full escape, Mills said, adding that he also helped evacuate U.S. citizens and eligible individuals from Afghanistan during President Biden’s chaotic August 2021 withdrawal.
“I went in and was very thankful to be able to get — for the second time, by the way I’ll just add — helping the Biden administration, who has failed to do their job,” he said.
“[The] first time I did it was in 2021 where I conducted the very first successful rescue of Americans. But here it is, the second time doing the Biden administration’s work because they had no plan.”
Mills said the Biden administration has no plans to rescue the church groups and synagogue groups visiting the Holy Land.
He also addressed his contempt for Biden’s habit of calling early lids since the war began in Israel.
“The Biden administration continues to want to do these lids, but I think it’s about time that the American people put a lid on the disastrous administration that continues to fail in their plan and strategy to be able to get Americans out or to take into account the foreign policy [situation] that they actually create that actually leads to these types of incidents,” he said.

Canada, Germany, and Australia have organized evacuation flights for their citizens. The U.S. and the U.K. are still telling citizens to use the commercial flights still available.
Many airlines, including Virgin Atlantic, Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines have cancelled or delayed flights from Israel.
Canada said on Tuesday it would send military aircraft to Tel Aviv “in the coming days” for citizens and permanent residents as well as their spouses and children.
“We are planning to begin the assisted departure of Canadians from Tel Aviv … We are also working on additional options for those who cannot reach the airport in Tel Aviv,” foreign minister Melanie Joly said on X, formerly Twitter.
About 1,000 Canadians in Israel want to leave in the wake of Hamas’ assault on Saturday, according to the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs.
The Australian government confirmed on Wednesday it had asked Qantas and Virgin for urgent help to repatriate Australians from Israel as the death toll in the region mounts. However, foreign minister Penny Wong urged people not to wait for government-backed repatriation flights if they could find a commercial option to leave the region.
Germany has chartered Lufthansa to evacuate its citizens. Denmark is evacuating its citizens from both Israeli and Palestinian territories. Hungary evacuated 215 people on Sunday. Mexico evacuated 300 people via humanitarian flights operated by its army. South Korea evacuated its citizens who wanted to leave on Wednesday.
