The very best part of the Biden border crisis, if you can call something good from it, is that the utter hypocrisy of the far-left progressives has been exposed. The open borders crowd are all about sanctuary cities until things get real and actual illegal aliens show up in their city.

Take Los Angeles. It is the latest sanctuary city to receive migrant buses courtesy of Texas Governor Greg Abbott. He sent the last migrant bus to Los Angeles last week. It arrived five days after the one before it arrived. Complaining to reporters about the mean governor and how he uses illegal aliens as political props does not stop the migrant buses, as it turns out. Mayor Karen Bass must not be paying very close attention to what is happening in other sanctuary cities. Governor Abbott is obliging them and sending along illegal aliens to shelter and provide services for, as they previously claimed they would be happy to do. Governor Abbott saw those Democrat mayors and governors sanctimoniously proclaiming how wonderful they are by declaring their cities to be sanctuary cities – everyone is welcome, regardless of legal status. Your welcome, Mayor Bass.

So, when the bus doors open and forty to fifty illegal aliens disembark, suddenly the mantra has changed. Now there is not room for illegal aliens in these big sanctuary cities. There isn’t enough money to take care of them. There aren’t enough shelters available to house them. They add to already overcrowded medical facilities. Their children must be educated. They need food and everyday supplies. Welcome to the party, pal.

This is the point. It is easy to be on the sidelines, away from the humanitarian crisis created by Joe Biden when he decided to open up the southern border on his first day in office. He wanted to show that he is not Donald Trump and he did that. Trump secured the southern border as well as could be expected while Joe Biden has allowed 7 million migrants cross the border since he’s been in office. That doesn’t include the gotaways or those who come through the legal ports of entry. It is a disaster for our country, for our national security, and the end of our national sovereignty. Without a border, there is no sovereignty.

The Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted Wednesday to direct their attorney to investigate suing Texas and Abbott over his migrant busing program. It has resulted in more than 400 people being dropped in that city. 400. That isn’t even a drop in the bucket of the numbers that border communities see every week. 400 migrants is a cakewalk, especially given the timeframe in which the migrants have arrived. Abbott has sent 11 buses since June. Los Angeles officials were particularly pissed off that the last migrant bus arrived as California prepared for a rare hurricane event. Governor Abbott said the bus drivers took alternate routes to avoid bad weather, had access to weather reports, and the passengers had food and water for the trip. They wanted to go to Los Angeles.

“How heartless do you have to be to send toddlers and small children” into a hurricane zone, said Los Angeles Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez after he questioned if Abbott might be guilty of kidnapping or human trafficking.

It’s not kidnapping or human trafficking if the illegal aliens sign waivers, is it? They voluntarily choose a city they want to go to and board the bus. Migrants crossing the border don’t all want to stay in Texas or Arizona. They want to get to other states, to other areas where their family and/or friends live. Not to mention the fact that DHS has bussed and flown illegal aliens all across the country. There are illegal aliens in all of the country’s congressional districts now. Is that a coincidence? I don’t think so. There are no coincidences in politics.

Los Angeles City Council member Kevin De León said Abbott won’t stop sending the buses until there is legal action taken against him. De Leon knows that Abbott is the former Texas Attorney General who used to boast that he got up every day looking to sue the Obama administration, right? Abbott doesn’t scare easily. Sue away, you silly man.

“He’s just going to continue to do it because he has no incentive at all whatsoever until there is legal teeth put to this,” De León said just before the city council voted unanimously to pursue legal action.

The governor is a reasonable man. He said he’s willing to stop sending migrant buses to sanctuary cities when Biden does his job and secures the southern border. Sanctuary city mayors are Democrats. Biden is a Democrat. Maybe they should talk to Biden and encourage him to do his job.
