Geraldo sings the blues to the women on 'The View'

Geraldo Rivera was fired from his co-hosting gig on Fox New Channel’s highly popular show, The Five. He went on The View on Thursday to be embraced by those more in line with him ideologically.

Rivera did admit that he lied when he said he decided to leave the show last month. He was fired and came clean about that. He went on to call his relationship with one of the co-hosts of the show as “toxic.” Rivera wouldn’t name a name but did refer to the person as “he” so it was either Greg Gutfeld or Jesse Watters. Gutfeld is the Whoopi Goldberg of The Five, the official/unofficial leader of the group.

The news correspondent, who joined Fox in 2001, appeared on “The View” Thursday where he recalled having a “toxic relationship” with one of “The Five” co-hosts, which led him to being “fired” from the show. When asked who his toxic relationship was with, he chuckled it off.

“If you fired me from the No. 1 (Fox News) show, then I’m going to quit,” Rivera said he told executives. “I thought it was very unfair that in our disputes, he was always favored.”

Of course either Gutfeld or Watters would be favored by network executives. They are stars at Fox. Geraldo is a contributor (and longtime employee) at Fox, a guest on various shows. One of the women asked if Fox would make a show for him and he said probably not because his ideology is different. He said if they were going to fire him from a top show at the network, then he had no interest in going to another one. He said the execs said they would find another spot for him.

He’s an 80-year-old man who should be retiring and enjoying life on his boat with his much younger wife and his children. That’s my opinion. The other networks are over him and Fox kept him on since 2001 when they hired him to be a war correspondent after 9/11/01. He remarked that he was able to announce the breaking news when Osama bin Laden was killed and perhaps he should have retired then. That’s a good point.

To prove his point that his ideology is often out-of-step with others at Fox, he did his first interview about being fired on The View. He likely felt right at home. Naturally, the ladies brought up Trump. Geraldo and Trump have been friends forever. He said that though he is old friends with him and Trump gave him access to him in the White House, he will do all he can to prevent Trump from being president again because of what happened after the 2020 presidential election.

“Well, let me just say, first of all, that I am vowed to dedicate whatever energy I have left in the profession to ensure that [Trump] is not reelected president ever,” Rivera said, which was received with applause from the audience.

“I think what he did in the days and weeks leading up to Jan. 6 and on Jan. 6 was so unforgivable. He stabbed the Constitution of the United States in the back,” Rivera said. “And I really — even though I still have affection for him and remember the good times, because of that, he is disqualified, I believe, from ever being president of the United States again.”

Rivera did not vote for Trump in 2016, which he claims the then-president knew but “was always very nice,” despite not getting his vote. Joy Behar admitted Trump was different before running for president, calling him a “New York character” and confessing she attended his wedding.

Joy Behar – hypocrite. She said the quiet part out loud. Lots and lots of people in the entertainment industry who trash Trump were friendly with him before he ran for president. They hated him when he ran as a Republican and then beat their precious Hillary Clinton. Behar is one of the worst. She is Geraldo’s age. She may want to think about stepping back, too.

Geraldo got the attention he craved and the ladies on the show were nice to them. He’s one of them. It was time for him to go and the top brass at Fox had to nudge him along. Them’s the breaks.
