AOC to McConnell: Are you paying staffers to grope and choke me?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez aired her displeasure of a crude photo on Twitter showing young men in Team Mitch t-shirts goofing on a cardboard cut-out of the lawmaker. As you can see, most of the men were making a thumbs down gesture while one was making a choking gesture and one was kissing her cheek. The caption reads, “break me off a piece of that.”

None were groping her breasts, I’ll add. This isn’t anywhere near what Al Franken did to a real, live woman as she slept. It’s boorish and juvenile behavior, to be sure. It’s not acceptable behavior in any profession. The stunt is to garner attention on social media. The choking gesture is disturbing but there isn’t a sexual assault aspect to the photo. Again, it’s a cardboard cut-out, not an actual flesh and bones human being. They didn’t accost AOC in the hallways of Congress or in a public space outdoors. They look like dumb high school kids, to be honest. They are actually high school kids and not officially affiliated with McConnell’s campaign.

“These young men are not campaign staff. They’re high schoolers and it’s incredible that the national media has sought to once again paint a target on their backs rather than report real, and significant news in our country,” the campaign told the Post.

The original tweet that AOC used in her response noted that the young men were “seven young white men”. Everything is racial to the radical left these days. Would it have been less offensive if the men were black or brown? Of course not.

For AOC to hold Senate Majority Leader McConnell responsible for the stunt, though, is a real stretch. It’s not even an original kind of stunt made in really poor taste. I’m old enough to remember when a couple of high-level Obama staffers actually made worse gestures to a cardboard cut-out of Hillary Clinton. One grabbed her breast while the other kissed her cheek and put the neck of a beer bottle up her nose.

Was Barack Obama held accountable for his paid, professional staffers’ behavior? No, he was not. AOC could have called out the loutish behavior without going farther than the actual participants. There is no more reason to believe this is indicative of the culture in McConnell’s office or campaign than it was in Obama’s.

Mitch McConnell is off to a rough start this week. Sunday he fell and fractured a shoulder at his home in Kentucky.

“This morning, Leader McConnell tripped at home on his outside patio and suffered a fractured shoulder,” David Popp, McConnell’s communications director, said in a statement. “He has been treated, released, and is working from home in Louisville.”

The reactionary left is demanding that McConnell call back the Senate from the August recess to consider the gun control legislation passed by the House. He is recovering at home now, though, so there’s that. He did ask Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, Senate Commerce Chairman Roger Wicker, and Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Chairman Lamar Alexander to work on some bipartisan discussions of solutions.

McConnell has gone from #MoscowMitch to #MoscowMitchMassacre or #MassacreMitch on Twitter because so far he has blocked the Senate from taking up the House’s legislation. The radical left is never satisfied and the escalation of vitriol continues. Protesters outside of McConnell’s home even began to wish violence against the Senate Majority Leader. The “Murder Turtle” chants can certainly incite violence. The mocking of “thoughts and prayers”, too, is wicked.

“Murder Turtle!” the demonstrators can be heard shouting on video, in reference to McConnell’s infamous nickname.

“Come out, come out, wherever you are,” a person says at one point, while the others continue to yell.

“The bitch home — we keep seeing the lights go on and off,” another says. “This hoe really thought he was going to get ready to be at home after he hurt his little punk ass shoulder. Bitch, don’t nobody give a f–k! F–k your thoughts and prayers, Mitch. F–k you, f–k your wife, f–k everything you stand for. ”

The protest went live on Facebook for two hours. One person filming it could be heard wishing for voodoo dolls and stabbing McConnell in the heart.

“Hopefully there’s somebody out there with some voodoo dolls of these bitches,” a man says, to which the woman replies: “Just stab the motherf–ker in the heart, please.”

Woke celebrities are piping up and donating to McConnell’s challenger.

So much for calming things down, America.
