Kamala Pitches Plan to Buy More Young Black Male Votes

Despite the fact that this presidential race shouldn't be anywhere near as close as the legacy media is making it out to be, Kamala Harris keeps managing to find new holes in the ship's hull that require patching up. Most of these shortcomings run along racial lines, which should strike any observer as rather odd. After all, when it comes to race, Harris has tried to be all things to all people. She's Black(ish) with a mixture of Asian tossed in along with who-knows-what-else. For all we know, she may have some subspecies of Sasquatch mixed in there. But this week the polls are telling her that she needs more votes with young Black male voters so she's making a pitch in an upcoming event to wrangle some votes the old fashioned way. She'll buy them. It's part of her "opportunity economy." There will be "forgivable loans" made available to young entrepreneurs, but there is a catch. They are only available to you if you're Black. Vice President Kamala Harris unveiled an “Opportunity Agenda” proposal for Black men Monday, which includes plans to provide 1 million forgivable loans to Black entrepreneurs and new pathways to help Black Americans succeed in the legalized marijuana industry.

“This agenda is a further realization of Vice President Harris’ Opportunity Economy,” said former Rep. Cedric Richmond, a Harris campaign co-chair, in a statement. “An economy where people don’t just get by, but get ahead. Where Black men are equipped with the tools to thrive: to buy a home, provide for our families, start a business and build wealth.”

Harris’ announcement is aimed at increasing her support among Black male voters, and comes in the final weeks of an extremely close race between the Democratic vice president and Republican former President Donald Trump.

This is an inefficient way to patch up holes in the hull of the Good Ship Harris. There are people struggling with the effects of the policies of the Biden-Harris administration from across all racial and ethnic lines. Those people are not stupid. They know what the true definition of a "forgivable loan" is and what that means. A "loan" that you don't have to pay back in full is a gift. It's a gift that other people are not getting. When such a gift is specifically directed toward younger Black males to get started in the legalized marijuana industry, it's a suggestion that sanctioned drug dealing is an appropriate career objective for them.

What of the other goals that are mentioned? They include buying a home, providing for families, starting a business, and building wealth. Don't all of those other racial and socioeconomic groups share those same goals? Where are their gifts, presumably being paid for by the generosity of other, non-Black families? Pretty soon those groups will be coming along with their hands out as well. How many such gifts can Harris dole out before everyone has a marvelous prize package except for one group. Nobody expects the forgotten white people to decide this race, but winning Pennsylvania without those central suburban housewives isn't going to be easy.

This is little more than an effort to purchase votes in advance of the election, plain and simple. It shouldn't be legal and it probably isn't, but nobody seems to be letting that slow them down. Perhaps it's time for more of you to be writing in to your local pollsters and asking where your "repayment optional loan" is and when you can expect to see your check arriving in the mail. That might draw some much-needed attention to the matter.
