This was clearly an unforeseen development coming out of the United Kingdom. As we recently discussed, unrest has been growing among the Brits over the massive migration of illegal aliens to their shores, similar to what's been seen in the United States over the past couple of years. But the unrest recently turned to literal riots, with people attacking police officers who were attempting to arrest them and clear the streets. The crackdown on the protesters has been brutal, but now the Chief of London's Metropolitan Police is seeking to up the ante considerably. Not only don't they want people protesting in the streets, but they are looking to silence any complaints being made online. And he's not limiting the threat to only UK citizens. He's threatening to extradite and imprison Americans who sympathize with the cause of the protesters. This is a position that he needs to rethink very quickly. (Fox News)

London's Metropolitan Police chief warned that officials will not only be cracking down on British citizens for commentary on the riots in the U.K., but on American citizens as well.

"We will throw the full force of the law at people. And whether you’re in this country committing crimes on the streets or committing crimes from further afield online, we will come after you," Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley told Sky News.

Riots have broken out across the United Kingdom in recent days over false rumors spread online that an asylum seeker was responsible for a mass stabbing at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event that left three girls dead and others wounded. The murders, allegedly committed by a now 18-year-old British citizen born to Rwandan parents, sparked a series of violent protests that tapped into broader concerns about the scale of immigration in the U.K.

There has been footage of the violent clashes between pro-Hamas protesters and anti-migrant demonstrators making the rounds on Twitter and other social media platforms. Videos of the British police beating down the protesters have appeared as well. This is apparently what has the London Metropolitan Police Chief up in arms. I'll confess that I've been "guilty" of sharing some of that content myself. So what does the Chief think he's going to do about it? Will he try to have me extradited to England and toss me in a cell? Good luck with that.

When we first learned of this unrest, I was among the first to agree that we can't have people physically attacking the police and it doesn't matter if you're in America or the UK. But the vast majority of the people engaging in those protests were not attacking the police. They were protesting dangerous government policies and raising their voices. It's called free speech. I refuse to believe that even Biden, Pelosi, and the Democrats would stand by idly and allow American citizens to be extradited and imprisoned for sharing actual videos of police or governmental abuse and commenting on it. (Though they might try to label them "cheap fakes.") 

Britain's new leftist Prime Minister has yet to weigh in on this as far as I can tell, but he needs to get off the stick and do so. Perhaps he needs a reminder of things that happened on this side of the pond back in 1776 and 1812. America eventually grew to be Great Britain's closest ally and part of the "special relationship" that we share. We were the ones who came riding to their rescue in World War 2 when they were on the verge of being converted to speaking German.

With that in mind, allow me to deliver a "special message" to the leadership of our allies in this "special relationship." We would very much like to keep that relationship alive and cooperate in whatever manner is required to achieve our mutual goals in Europe and beyond. But don't throw out your history books in the process. We kicked your butts before when the need arose and we could easily do it again today if we're pressed. Probably even more easily today. You wouldn't have a damn country today if it weren't for us. It's best that you keep that in mind.
