Want to change genders in one day for 99 bucks?

National Audubon Society video:

As regular readers know all too well by now, gender-bending is all the rage these days. A condition that was once properly considered by the medical community to be a very rare delusional disorder (gender dysphoria) is now sweeping across America and some other parts of the world faster than the latest variant of the ‘Rona. But how are people who are interested in trading in their old gender finding the medical resources to get started quickly? I mean, that’s a pretty big decision, right? And you would surely want to consult a competent medical professional before diving into it. And then there are all of the costs to consider, particularly if your healthcare plan doesn’t cover such procedures.

Fear not! It turns out that a lot of people are taking the plunge without ever being examined in person by a doctor. Through several services examined by the Daily Caller, you can set up a Zoom call with a doctor that you’ll never meet in person. And after one brief session, your hormones or other “gender-affirming” drugs can be in the mail and on their way to you the very same day. And you can get all of this “medical care” for the bargain basement price of 99 dollars!

Medical professionals are prescribing cross-sex drugs to patients without in-person evaluations through several telehealth companies that boast of fast and easy access to hormonal drugs and other transgender-related care.

Several companies have cropped up in recent years offering cross-sex medical treatments, euphemistically referred to as “gender-affirming care,” through telehealth programs in order to facilitate and expedite the gender transition process. The companies are part of a push against so-called gatekeeping in the medical community that can delay patients’ access to cross-sex treatments like hormones and surgeries, but a growing cohort of medical professionals are drawing attention to the health risks of rushed transitions.

Depending on where you live, a company named “Plume” offers a deal where you can set up a teleconference with a doctor and have a prescription for cross-gender hormones phoned in to your local pharmacy the same day. They will also provide “medical letters of support” that can be used when seeking gender-mutilation surgery with a focus on convincing your insurance company to cover the procedure. And all of that can take place after you’ve spent barely any time at all talking to a doctor on a Zoom call.

You don’t need any sort of advanced medical degree or expertise in related scientific fields to call this out as what it clearly is. This isn’t medical care. It’s a joke. And it’s a very financially lucrative joke to boot. It’s also exceptionally dangerous, since the surgeries in question are irreversible, as are some of the serious side effects of the medications being prescribed.

When a person is suspected of having a serious mental illness or related trauma, they typically undergo extensive therapy sessions so their medical professional can get to the root of the problem. Lab tests are often required as well if only to rule out physical maladies that may relate to the symptoms. But under this new assembly line approach to transgenderism, a guy can simply hop on a zoom call and say ‘I think I might actually be a girl’ and… boom! ‘Your prescription is on the way, sir… I mean, madam.’

Look, if you’re an adult capable of providing informed consent for any medical procedure and you want to do this, be my guest. As long as you’re willing to take responsibility for the consequences of your decisions, it’s up to you. (That approach does NOT apply to children, as we’ve discussed here repeatedly.) Call yourself a goldfish and have some gills attached to your neck. It’s your life.

But what we’re seeing here is a serious trend toward what appears to be medical malpractice in the professional community. How could any doctor with a sense of professional responsibility launch a patient into that radical of a change that will impact their entire lives on a few hours’ notice after one Zoom call? If they do, however, they likely won’t be running into any interference from the federal government. Joe Biden has their backs.
