...On a brick wall at 70th and Halsted, in the heart of Chicago's Englewood — a neighborhood that's 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝟗𝟓% 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 — someone painted a mural of Donald Trump.

It went up in the summer of 2024, right after the ass∗ssination attempt: blood on his face, the words “DA C.I.A. MISSED” beside him. And nearly two years later, it's 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Sit with that. In a deep-blue, overwhelmingly black community, a Trump mural has stood for almost two years 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 — not vandalized, not painted over, not torn down.

We were told, again and again, that black America despised this man. The neighborhood that supposedly hates him most has quietly left his face on the wall.
