A queer Canadian academic who identifies as trans and is a parent to three non-binary children, was torched online after wanting to be called an absurd name.
The Assistant Professor of Queer Studies in Education at the University of Regina in Saskatchewan asked that others use the name j wallace skelton in lieu of third-person pronouns.
Skelton, who has a PhD in Education, noted on Facebook that the name should be spelled with lowercase letters - as he reiterated that he gave birth to three children who identify as nonbinary and queer.
'When you misgender someone, you tell a lie about them and a truth about yourself,' reads Skelton's personal website.
Users online expressed their extreme disapproval, describing the assistant professor as 'sick', 'mentally disturbed', and 'a self-hating woman'.
Skelton, who appears as a man sporting a goatee, began working at the University of Regina in 2022, where he invites students to take courses in queer and trans studies.
