Associate Justice Peter Moulton issued the ruling after a brief hearing Friday afternoon.
[It’s not clear whether this is a substantive ruling or just a pause to consider the competing claims. It’s probably not a great sign that the judge didn’t stop the trial at the same time. Separately, federal judge Aileen Cannon paused the classified materials/obstruction case in Florida while discovery compliance and scheduling complaints get hashed out. At the least, it’s a couple of process wins for Trump today. — Ed]
