The second-kookiest conspiracy theory was supposed to unfold yesterday, on January 6th. Section 3 of the 14th Amendment was supposed to kick in, disqualifying Donald Trump from taking office by formally rejecting the Electoral College count, because he, to all Never Trumpers remaining, demonstrated himself to be an insurrectionist.
Online, the fever swamp was hoping to see some evidence that the Democrats in Congress would rise up on Monday and create a whole different type of storm than the snow that was falling in Washington, D.C.
One of the leaders of this nutty theory is Jamie Raskin. Here's how this was supposed to go down.
Democrats have always had a multi-fold plan to stop Trump, with their own J6, to call it "saving democracy." The mainstream media will cheer it on, crusading them as "champions for freedom and democracy." Jamie Raskin is saying it out loud. Communists NEVER cede power! Prepare! pic.twitter.com/8DNmskv4Ie

Needless to say, the insurrection to save democracy didn't happen. Donald Trump will be president on January 20th.
I said the second-kookiest conspiracy theory. The first is a semi-regular emailer to the radio program, someone who claims to have the gift of numerology and prophecy, weds them together, and has come up with the idea that Kamala Harris was going to augur into centerfield at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Joe Biden would replace her with Michelle Obama. Biden would then step aside, Michelle would become POTUS 47, appoint Barack as her Veep, Congress would bless it, the Obamas would divorce the following day, she'd resign, and Wham-O. Trump would become incapacitated, Vance is ignored, Congress would bypass the entire Constitutional line of succession, and Wham-O, Barack Obama gets his fourth term.
I know. In retrospect, Raskin and the fever swamp's insurrection to same democracy gambit doesn't seem quite as goofy.
Nevertheless, Harris, flying back from California at 34,000 feet, well above the cruising altitude of Canadian snow geese that was supposed to strike the jet engines of Air Force 2, successfully returned to the nation's Capitol, and presided over the Electoral College counting, making the 2024 Election official.
So much for the J6-'25 theatrics. Regime media really was quite something yesterday. On the one hand, they were resolved to keep January 6th alive for as long as it takes to convince the American people to care, and yet on the other hand, disgusted, dispirited and downright angry at the American people for not already caring enough to make that issue front and center on November 5th.
On The View, Sunny Hostin, in one of her few television moments of late where she wasn't reading a legal disclaimer excusing something she said in the previous segment, offered this.
J6, a bad day at the Capitol that saw exactly no one mass murdered in a concentration camp's gas chamber, makes the mother of all Godwin's Law comparisons. It's an extraordinarily stupid comment, and it is downright evil to minimize the true evil Hitler and the Nazis committed in World War II.
A few moments later, as the Joint Session of Congress was doing their thing to formally count the Electoral College votes, Scott Jennings was on CNN to respond to Hostin.
It wasn't the only stupid thing said yesterday. Again, there apparently is a shortage of Copium within regime media, because Joy Reid took disgust at her fellow Trump-voting Americans to a whole new art form Monday night.
Notice her earrings? They're elephants. She said she's wearing them because elephants remember. She's going to remember J6.
CNN is currently defending itself in a defamation suit. A jury has been seated, one that reportedly includes someone who is at best meh about Jake Tapper. But after what he pulled on air over the last couple days, his network is going to need to hire more lawyers.
Jake was vamping while senators were filing into the House of Representatives chamber for the joint session, and here's what he said when he laid eyes on Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
Tapper's comments are not just false, they're defamatory. There is not a shred of evidence to prove proximate cause Cruz helped lead to what happened in the Capitol. Tapper was on a roll, though. In the middle of a conversation about critics of the J6 rump committee to railroad Donald Trump, Tapper refused to accept that criticism. This committee is the one that then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to allow Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy to staff with members he chose, breaking all precedent for select committees. She booted Jim Banks and Jim Jordan, replacing them with Adam Kinzinger and Lynne Cheney.
Note Tapper's description here. No one is saying the J6 rump committee was illegal. That's a straw man Tapper is setting up to attack. There are tons of people, including me, that say because of Pelosi's unprecedented move to deny the minority party to staff a select committee with the members they choose, the committee is illegitimate. Illegal and illegitimate are two completely different words. Jake, of course, has no problem with what Pelosi pulled, because he's a lefty, hates Donald Trump, and his performance indicates his disgust at the American people for the situation in which he finds himself, and suggests that anyone who doesn't accept the work of the J6 Committee is an insurrectionist supporter.
The Biden campaign, such that it was, and the Harris campaign, such as that was, attempted to make J6 the front and center issue. They were certain that the resonance it had in the 2022 midterms would continue in 2024, especially since they had regime media to do the heavy lifting in campaign coverage.
What media cannot come to grips with as of yet is what Harry Enten reported out of polling analysis.
Jennings, later in the evening, underscored what Enten reported and poured salt into the wound of his fellow panelists. Nobody cared about J6. The inflated cost of living mattered a hell of a lot more.
Jennings was nowhere near finished. After hearing his colleagues praise Kamala Harris all day long for, *checks notes*, doing her job, he had a little fun, and even Abby Phillip had to cut him off.
NEW: CNN’s Van Jones can’t stop smiling as Scott Jennings completely kills the pro-Harris vibe in the room.

Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, the two minority leaders of the Democrats in the Senate and House respectively, decided to hold a prayer vigil to remember J6 at one of the points of entry by the mob four years ago. Who conducted the prayer, you ask? The most leftist female PCUSA Presbyterian pastor they could find.
Schumer and Jeffries just held a moment of silence and prayer with the House Chaplain (Yes, she is a Presbyterian) at the door where mostly peaceful Trump supporters entered the Senate on January 6 lol. pic.twitter.com/rmxHXTy6aG

I hope they don't let it go. I hope they focus on it night and day for the next two years and make J6 the focal point for all of their closely-contested elections. I hope whomever is their nominee for president in 2028 proclaims J6 as their signature issue. That will ensure Republican governance until my retirement years at the earliest.
In the meantime, I'm happy to pass the popcorn around as people like Jim Acosta are angry not just at the American people, but angrier that Attorney General Merrick Garland didn't do enough to imprison Donald Trump before things got this far.

I'm not excusing what happened on January 6th. It shouldn't have happened, and those who entered illegally should be prosecuted in accordance with the law and sentenced in a manner comparable to other similar crimes. It's been four years. Those prosecutions should have been completed and those convicted should have been able to serve their time long before now. I'm done with it. A majority of the American people are over it, too. If there are still people being held in limbo, I'm perfectly fine with Doanld Trump pardoning them or commuting sentences on Day One. Enough is enough. But media isn't over it. They're still embittered, and that anger is directed at you.
I've often said when regime media shows how biased they are, it doesn't matter how much you hate them, because it's not nearly enough.
The converse is proving to also be true. No matter how much regime media hates you, and they do, the way you vote and the avenues by which you choose to consume your news shows them they don't hate you nearly enough.
That's your real division in the country. It's not right versus left so much as it's media elites against all of you with eyes, ears, and a functional brain stem.
