The question for today, posed originally by singer-songwriter Dan Hicks, is this: How can we miss you when you won't go away?
The answer: We may never know. Jill Biden remains on the talk-show circuit, desperately flogging conspiracy theories to cover up the cover-up she and others perpetrated regarding Joe Biden's senility. Hunter Biden has now joined her on the pod trail, suggesting he might want to maintain Biden Inc's business model by going into politics. Kamala Harris continues to pander to the DSA and position herself for an attempt at a second first presidential primary, even in this midterm cycle.
Despite all of the damage they have done, Harris and the Bidens insist on putting themselves in the middle of this election cycle. And Democrats really want to start missing them, as ABC News reported yesterday, especially in states where voters have long memories:
With less than 70 days until the midterm election, some Democrats running in the most conservative areas are sending a clear message to former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris: stay out of their races.
In Iowa, Democratic Senate nominee state Rep. Josh Turek -- who has welcomed the support of former President Barack Obama and has twice won a seat in a district that voted for President Donald Trump -- was asked if Harris should campaign for him. He simply said "No."
Also in Iowa, Democratic gubernatorial nominee Rob Sand told Politico "no thanks" to the idea of Biden or Harris campaigning for him. He also said Harris should not run for president in 2028, arguing the country needs "new leadership."
Alaska Democratic Senate nominee Mary Peltola recently distanced herself from Harris after her political action committee backed Peltola in a fundraising email.
The Biden-Harris Hangover isn't even the worst problem Democrats face in this cycle. It appeared to be their biggest problem at the start of the year, when Jill Biden's book first drew attention, and the Bidens announced that Joe's supposed book would soon follow. (It has since been postponed.) The rise of the Democratic Socialists and Senate nominations of its radicals in Florida, Maine, and Michigan, as well in House and gubernatorial races in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and New York have created much heavier baggage in red and purple states. The GOP is teeing up an Akin strategy for its midterm convention next week in Dallas to paint the entire party as radical revolutionaries.
Still, the hangover is real and it's spectacular. The Bidens don't have any business model except power, and celebrity is the next-best substitute. While Jill relitigates Joe's senility and reminds voters how they got hoodwinked and gaslit, Hunter wants to relitigate his crimes ... literally:
Hunter Biden’s lawyer asserted that the Justice Department was on the cusp of a “non-prosecution resolution” with his client had it not been for the two Internal Revenue Service whistleblowers.
IRS agents Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler had alleged the Justice Department slow-walked the probe of the 46th president’s son. Shortly after going public with their concern, attorney Abbe Lowell said federal prosecutors changed course. ...
“Before the May 2023 leaks, discussions with your Office involved a consensual non-prosecution resolution to all conduct under investigation, where the resolution proposed by both sides did not include any guilty plea,” Lowell wrote.
But he wrote that changed after Shapley was interviewed by CBS News.
“Approximately one day later, the government withdrew its own initial settlement proposal (a diversion agreement as to both the tax and firearm charges), and instead said it would require a misdemeanor guilty plea on the tax charges,” said the letter from Lowell.
Er ... isn't that how whistleblowing works? Lowell found that out the hard way. After publicly attacking the character of the whistleblowers, they sued Lowell for defamation. Lowell was forced to settle:
The two whistleblowers sued Lowell for defamation. The lawsuit was ultimately settled, with Lowell agreeing that the disclosures were protected by law.
Hunter has been on the trail making similar claims of persecution. That's pretty rich coming from a felon who got a Get Out of Jail Free card from his father. The pardon came after Joe repeatedly said he would not intervene in Hunter's case, as well as his insistence that the laptop that provided much of the evidence was "Russian disinformation."
And this entire discussion is precisely what Democrats didn't want or need in 2026. The ugly truth of the Biden Regency is that everyone was in on it – Jill, Hunter, Kamala Harris, the White House staff, and every leading Democrat. Every time the Bidens or Harris attempt to seize the moment is another opportunity to remind voters of the scope and shamelessness of the fraud Democrats perpetrated on the American electorate. And not just Democrats either, but the Protection Racket Media that tried to gaslight voters by accusing them of ageism, insisting that Joe was Sharp As a Tack™ and Running Rings Around Aides Half His Age, etc. The media played along with Karine Jean-Pierre and the Biden propaganda machine on "cheap fakes" video to convince people not to believe their own eyes when it came to Joe's cognitive collapse.
Democrats don't miss those days a bit, but ... they would dearly love the opportunity to miss them.
So much for Kamala 2028, eh?
