"After years of positioning herself as a climate crusader and ardent opponent of fracking, Kamala Harris has avoided mention of such credentials in this must-win state for Democrats, where natural gas drives the economy, culture and everyday conversation.

"Her new approach is proving a tough sell."

"When Tim Walz retired from the Army National Guard ahead of deployment to Iraq, he told very few of his fellow soldiers that he was abandoning their unit — leaving even his commander in the dark and going above his head to quit, The Post has learned.

"The Democratic vice-presidential candidate and governor of Minnesota “went behind everyone’s back,” according to Thomas Behrends, who took Walz’s place in the summer of 2005 to prepare 500 troops for combat in Iraq."

The Harris campaign dodged answering questions about why Gov. Tim Walz did not complete the required coursework to retire from the Army National Reserves with the high-ranking title of command sergeant major – a rank he’s repeatedly claimed having attained despite retiring as a master sergeant.

"“He shut down a lot of the mom-and-pop shops, those folks that were just trying to make a living and provide a great product and a great service,” Hanson told Fox News Digital. “In contrast, he allowed big box stores, etc. to stay open. Really incredible, an incredible use of tyranny against the people.”

'Hanson eventually decided to re-open her business and defied Walz’s renewed shutdown order for bars and restaurants six times between December 2020 and January 2021.

"She was convicted in December 2021 on misdemeanor charges and received the maximum sentence of 90 days and a $1,000 fine. Hanson ended up serving two-thirds of her sentence, 60 days."

"“Since May 29, 2020, when I first issued a nighttime curfew, over 400 individuals have been arrested, with over 250 individuals arrested after the 8:00 pm curfew on May 31, 2020,” Walz wrote in the June 1 extension of the original order.

"“Because much of the destruction and violence has taken place under the cover of darkness, we must continue a temporary nighttime curfew in coordination with the Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.”"

From Ed: There's a dispute over whether Walz ordered the use of paintballs to enforce the curfew, or if that strategy originated with the Minneapolis PD or National Guard. It seems more likely that it came from one of the agencies, but Walz is ultimately responsible for this. It was not, however, a COVD-19 lockdown enforcement effort, which is how this video has been described on social media today.
