Welcome back to our VIP video series “Off the Beaten Path,” featuring my friend Larry O’Connor! The Townhall columnist and Salem News Channel host starts off our week by discussing stories and ideas that may fly under our radar, in culture, politics, sports, and more. Plus, Larry previews his latest LARRY! show, a new feature at Townhall!

Larry and I redefine ‘stream of consciousness’ in today’s episode! We talk about the House Speaker race, as well as Salem Media’s partnership with NBC News on the upcoming debate in Miami on November 8. Larry will definitely be on hand and I may be, which gets us talking about Miami Vice and our wardrobe choices for the debate coverage. We also discuss Rupert Holmes’ stage career and his weird tribute to cannibalism in The Buoys’ “Timothy,” which you gotta hear to believe. (They’re not talking about a mule, trust me.) In the middle of all this, I manage to shock Larry O’Connor with my unpopular opinion about a classic film from the 1980s.

Be sure to watch it all and join us in the comments!
