The Week in Review: How much Joe feels, Fox Corp kneels, and more!

Townhall Media

What stories topped your priority lists this week? For Duane Patterson and me, the big culture story this week came from Fox Corporation and their glory-hole DEI efforts, exposed by Matt Walsh. First, though, we address the 2024 earthquake this week in the dramatic entry to the GOP primaries of … Miami mayor Francis Suarez? “That’s not even the top story in Miami,” I quip. More seriously, we step through Matt Walsh’s revelations, and note how Roy Cooper is also doubling down on imposing wokery on kids in North Carolina. Duane covers the Marxist project of California’s AB 957, and we also discuss The Indictment and DoJ weaponization. Plus, after Joe Biden’s appearance with Eva Longoria, should his theme song be “How Much I Feel”?

Welcome to our VIP feature for Hot Air as well as a members-only show in the Hughniverse! Duane Patterson and I now are doing a Week in Review show for Friday evenings, exclusive to members in both platforms. Duane has been the Generalissimo behind the Hugh Hewitt Show for more than two decades, and we have partnered on weekly commentary since 2007.

In case you missed this, here’s Joe trying to cop a feel and Longoria (almost) successfully intercepting the pass (via Twitchy):

More highlights from today’s show:

  • On AB 957: “If an eight year old says, Mommy, Mommy, I want to change, I want to cut my penis off,” Duane posits, and “if the mom says, sure, why not? and the dad says, Are you out of your farking mind?,” the State will come down on the side of genital mutilation thanks to this new law. “Under this new law,” Duane continues, California courts “would take custody away from the dad, give full custody to the mom. … It now equates saying no to an eight year old’s gender choice as the same thing as as actually beating a child. I mean, that’s the end of parenting in California.”
  • “The goal of progressives and cultural Marxists is to break down the nuclear family,” I say, “take control of children away from parents and mold them in to become the new Socialist Person.”
  • We briefly discuss the Dodgers’ Pride Night celebration of anti-Catholic bigots this evening, and try to predict what the late Vin Scully and Tommy Lasorda would have done if they were still around. “They are dead to me. This is not the same team,” I say, as when I grew up with them. “They used to be number one with me,” I add, “now they’re more like number one,” while using a different finger.
  • On Fox Corp’s employee communications on DEI: “I can’t imagine Human Resources would have allowed me in any of the corporations I work for to recommend, you know, Lady Chatterley’s Lover as an important book for my employees to read,” I say. “If I had done something like that, I’d be out on my ass and my employees would have a pretty decent lawsuit against whoever my employer was.”
  • “None of this is okay. None of this is okay,” Duane replies.
  • Duane then wonders whether Larry Craig would want his career back after seeing Fox Corp promote “glory hole” literature, and I bring out my Bobblefoot again!

There’s a ton more here, including the discussion of the indictment, the DoJ, and Biden’s gross moment with Longoria. Be sure to watch it all and join the conversation in the comments!
