She Got the Nobel Prize for Hating Israel; UPDATE: Elisa Wiesel Condemns

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded, and its no surprise Donald Trump didn't receive it.

Again.

For God's sake, Donald, give it a rest. I know it is gold and all that, but it is tainted.

The Nobel committee decided to award it to Navi Pillay in the outstanding achievement category of hating Israel and all Jews. Because hating on Jews is what counts as protecting human rights these days. She can enjoy the prize she shares with Yasser Arafat.

So who is this outstanding exemplar of human rights advocacy? Why, she's a South African judge who put together the case for prosecuting Israel at The Hague, of course. She's the first nonwhite woman on South Africa's High Court, and later a judge on the ICC Appeals Chamber from 2003–2008. After that, she served as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014. In 2021, she chaired the UNHRC's open-ended Commission of Inquiry on the occupied Palestinian territory.

It all sounds so NGO-y, doesn't it? There are all the right words, and all the proper saccharine sentimentality that works perfectly to launder the raw hatred for Jews that lies just underneath the surface.

It was all a sham, and we can know that her role at the "Commission of Inquiry on the occupied Palestinian territory" was a sham because, before she was appointed, she had already rendered her opinion. Before taking the chair in July 2021, Pillay signed a June 2020 manifesto calling on governments to "Sanction Apartheid Israel" and a June 2021 letter urging Biden to punish Israel. She took the supposedly impartial job a month later.

Some inquiry, huh?

The Nobel Prize committee has lost its moral compass. It has awarded its highest honor to a bigot who built her career around inventing and propagating blood libels against the one and only Jewish state.

Navi Pillay’s proudest achievement was to legitimize a corrupt prosecutor who turned to her fabrications against Israel hoping that by joining her bigoted lynch mob, he would beat a rape charge.

Karim Khan, who was accused by his own ICC employees of raping and sexually molesting them, used Pillay’s lies to build a fake case against Israel.

Pillay supplied the lies. Khan weaponized them. And now the misguided members of the Nobel Committee are honoring the woman who propagated this demonization of the Jews and this travesty of justice.

This is pretty standard for anybody in the international NGO complex, which is fixated on Israel. The transnationalists hate Israel with a passion.

Pillay was, of course, at the UN for years as the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and while there helped steer a campaign to slander Israel of, appropriately, world-historic proportions.

Donald J. Trump ReTruthed Schoenlaw:

Today the Nobel Committee shamed itself beyond repair and demeaned the once great Nobel Peace Prize by giving it to the UN’s Navi Pillay. Pillay is an unabashed hater of America and Israel. In her position she celebrated terrorists and rewarded Hamas. She conducted a phony “investigation” claiming to find that Israel committed genocide and urging prosecution. She has no credibility in any normal sphere and has never done a thing to foster peace. Just the opposite. But what could be expected from a committee that previously gave the once coveted peace prize to Yasser Arafat?

President Trump gave us the Abraham Accords, which the world said would be impossible and is now expanding them! He brought home the hostages when all seemed hopeless! He is making best efforts to end the Russia/Ukraine war, to stop Iran, the number one sponsor of international terrorism, and he is trying to rebuild Gaza despite the terrorists’ best efforts to control it. The list goes on and on. These are the kinds of things the Nobel Peace Prize was intended to recognize and reward!!! realDonaldTrump

While she was UNHCR, every single meeting had a permanent agenda item focused on trashing Israel — literally, a standing item called "Agenda Item 7." No other country in the world has EVER gotten that treatment, and it continues to this day. Israel is the sole focus of evil in the universe according to the transnationalists.

The UN has condemned Israel more times than every other country in the world combined, and not by a little. By 250 percent.

Of course, one ancillary benefit of awarding this prize was poking Donald Trump in the eye. He clearly wants the award for whatever reason, and they gave it to his polar opposite. An antisemite from South Africa, who has represented a government from a country where "Kill the Boer" is a political song.

If you ever wondered why so many of our ancestors gave up and came to the United States to start over, wonder no longer. Look at who they were escaping. Aside from the leftover art and architecture from a better age, what is there to admire? It's not the vitality, or innovation, or the intellectual achievements.

Those days are over. Only the losers are left, or at least left in charge.

UPDATE: Elie Wiesel's son blasts the Nobel Committee for its choice, as he should.

On December 10, 1986, I was 14 years old, sitting in Oslo City Hall as my father, Elie Wiesel, accepted the Nobel Peace Prize. I will never forget the look of hope on his face that day. He had spent his life tortured by the thought that the world had looked away from the Jewish people as the Nazis filled the gas chambers and crematoria with our brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, children. Finally, he felt seen, and he had a message to share. As he put it in his acceptance speech, “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim.” My father was honored because he had turned the memory of genocide into a moral duty to the living.

This morning, the same committee awarded the same prize to Navi Pillay, who chaired the UN commission of inquiry that, on September 16 of last year, betrayed the meaning of the word genocide and weaponized it against Israel. Her commission held Israel to impossible moral standards demanded of no other sovereign nation defending itself from attack. The decision followed years of anti-Israel advocacy by Pillay, including signing a manifesto in 2020 calling on governments to “Sanction Apartheid Israel.” Others have been able to see Pillay for who she is. In 2022, for example, Berlin’s mayor withdrew her support from an event honoring Pillay with a peace medal. The event was subsequently canceled.

The decision to honor Pillay is not a onetime lapse for the Nobel Committee. It is part of a long-standing trend. Members of the committee have said publicly that they wished they could take back former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres’s 1994 prize because of concerns over Israel’s conduct. A decade later, four of the five members were still defending former Palestine Liberation Organization chairman Yasser Arafat’s prize, awarded that same year. The Israeli laureate was judged by everything he did afterward. The Palestinian laureate was never judged again. Antisemitism today looks less like hatred than like scrutiny with one permanent defendant, carried out in the language of justice. Kåre Kristiansen, a member of the committee, understood this. He resigned within an hour of the 1994 announcement because he could not honor a man whose record was soaked in terror.
