Abdul El-Sayed believes he is a Chad. That's a "confident Alpha male" in slang.

Now I will freely admit, before I dunk on him, that he is more of one than I am. He's definitely more charismatic and masculine than I am, because I am a Geek. My wife likes to joke that instead of being the "strong, silent type," I am the "weak and effusive" type.

Not sure which of us came up with that line, since we have been using it for 30 years, but it's a pretty good joke, IMHO, whoever invented it.

But for being a Chad, the guy has a pretty odd way of proving it. Rather than staying in his own voice to campaign online — presumably because he has found that the more people get to know him, the less they like him — he has taken the Gavin Newsom route of trying to imitate Trump with a snide, insulting X stream.

I won't get into the tiresome debate about whether this tone signals a decline in our political discourse. It is what it is.

What is worth discussing is that this tactic seems to work only for Donald Trump. When others try to do it they sound like what they are: copying the original, and badly. They are trying to be Don Rickles, but come off as even worse than Andrew Dice Clay.

He's been trying to label Mike Rogers a "Beta Male" to contrast with his own clearly "Alpha" persona. The thing is, Rogers isn't really running as the Alpha Male candidate; his pitch is definitely masculine, but not in an aggressive way.

Rogers was a Special Agent in the FBI, fighting organized crime. Now I know Abdul kinda likes criminals, especially if they are trans, but generally speaking, you don't find a lot of betas in that crowd. In fact, it's the betas who need to keep asserting their masculinity.

Also, alphas don't get all whiny about being asked why they did something. They explain.

This keeps getting worse.

Abdul El-Sayed: "I am not interested in a conversation about a social media person in California."

Reporter: "Why did you bring him to Michigan then?"

Abdul: *waves off question*

Different reporter: "There are Jewish voters who DO want to have that conversation. Everyone I've talked to has been asking me to ask you whether you condemn Hasan Piker."

Abdul (not condemning): "I'm telling you this is not a campaign about a single streamer in California."

Ironically, Hasan Piker, that unnamed "California streamer" that Abdul suddenly knows nothing about and doesn't want to talk about, despite flying him out to Michigan to campaign for him, is also obsessed with appearing to be an Alpha male, or as he puts it, a "Chad."

Piker apparently can't get a haircut without picking a cute hairdresser, and can't stand not streaming while he is doing it. So, ironically, he films himself explaining what a Chad he is, and the hairdresser whacks him down without breaking a sweat.

Democrats know that they have been put in the "feminine" bloc and are struggling to get out of the sense that they are solely the party of estrogen.

But pretending to be what you are not is hardly the way to prove you are Alpha. Instead, it proves you are insecure, which both of these "men" most certainly are. Hasan has been threatening Democrats if they abandon him, boasting about his own influence, and cosplaying a "Big Man."

What he is is a wannabe. He loves to talk about violence, praise terrorists, and talk big. He idolizes Stalin and Mao, but his big contribution to the revolution he claims to want is to talk incessantly, day in and day out, preening for the camera and whining when people take potshots at him.

It’d be pretty funny if Nick Fuentes went on a Semafor podcast at the peak of the panic over him and whined, “It doesn’t feel great to constantly be berated like this.”

But we never got to that point because, instead of offering evasive nonsense like “this race isn’t about a streamer in Illinois,” nearly every elected Republican in America behaved normally when asked and condemned the radical bigot.

Democrats are flailing. They want the vote of men, whom they have alienated for years by calling them toxic, and they have wound up with sexual predators and terrorist wannabes. And yet they have kept the same Queer agenda, just tacking on a violent antisemitic coda.

The irony is, this flailing is likely to cost them two winnable Senate seats. If they had picked normal candidates they would have had a better shot at them.
