'I Was Just a Kid' Is the Excuse for Being Insane the Last Few Years

Yesterday I wrote about AOC's "defense" of the woke insanity of the past few years.

"Woke one was craaaazzy."

She was speaking about Francesca Hong's stated positions as a sitting state legislator, over 30-years-old, and she held those positions until she started getting trashed for them in her current campaign for governor.

But really, she was just a kid and shouldn't be held responsible for anything she said outside the current context of her campaign.

We're not even talking, in most cases, about positions taken at the height of the George Floyd madness. Every DSA-supported candidate has held crazy views until they started running in their current campaigns; they are the very reasons why the DSA endorsed them, after all. It's just that they are so unpopular that they have started to temporize or disavow positions they have held throughout their adult lives.

As Organized Crime Democrats have freaked out, worried that these candidates who are adults with the minds of toddlers have captured the Democratic base and will destroy the Democrats' chances of picking up seats this year, a cadre of their supporters are trying to help out by downplaying the insanity.

Geraldo dismisses past woke and radical positions by radical Democrats as crazy stuff they said as "kids."

"They're running away from those statements they may have made in the past."

"They're not all of a sudden gonna become commies."

"Their statements as kids were ridiculous. But that's not what they really are as grownups."

Just some wacky kids who are now grown up and didn't really mean anything they said.

This may be the most comical attempt to whitewash the woke we've heard yet. Just excellent work here, Geraldo.

This is an explanation? Who wants a person in a position of power who can become so emotionally unhinged that they adopt insane positions so casually and work mightily to destroy people who disagree with them?

Sure, I became a commie and tried to destroy Western Civilization, but that was sooooo 2021, you know.

Seriously, who would you rather have in power — somebody who kept their head under pressure, or somebody who blows with the winds with their peer group? The first is called an adult; the second is called a man- or woman-child.

Now that David Hogg is on the outs with the OCDs, we are told that he doesn't REALLY represent the Democrats.

Except he was voted to become the DNC Vice Chair and was kicked out on a technicality by the OCDs. The base wanted him, and he probably more powerful within the party today than when he was inside the tent pissing out.

Abdul El-Sayed went through medical school, got another doctorate, and is 41. Are we to ignore what he said a year or three ago as childish flights of fancy? Or, perhaps, he is engaged in taqiyya.

The entire DSA is doing the same. In their media training, they are now being told to hide their positions with the assurance that most media figures will give them a pass — an assurance that is only half true, since most Pravda figures are firmly with the OCDs, and only the most left of them are willing to back the DSA.

That is the essence of the Democrat Party civil war. Some figures are loyal to the Party, while others are loyal to the Party's ideology, which is under attack. The OCDs want the Party to win; the ideologues want their ideology to win.

You know the DSA has gone off the deep end when even MSNBC is appalled.

DSA co-chair Megan Romer says October 7th was “inevitable.”

I’ve spent time with October 7th victims and heard firsthand what they endured. NOTHING can justify the murder, rape, torture and kidnapping of innocent people.

If this isn’t disqualifying, what is? https://x.com/VigilantFox/status/2086846637431804311/video/1

We are being asked to take these candidates seriously as adults who should be making some of the most consequential decisions in the world, while at the same time ignoring that they have been bats**t crazy for most or all of their adult lives.

I would say "make it make sense," but making sense is not the point. Getting DSA candidates in power is the entire point. Even the DSA admits that its candidates aren't even Democrats; they are using the party as a vehicle to get into power.

Moderate Democrats — and, yes, there ARE moderate Democrat voters, if not elected officials — are likely to defect in numbers for the worst of these candidates. You saw that in the anti-El-Sayed vote for Haley Stevens, who was an objectively bad candidate, and you will most definitely see that in the erosion of support for Hong when and if she is on the ballot in November.

I'm tired of being told that, to be a progressive, I now must swear allegiance to crazy ideas.

I'm a strong Democrat, with a winning bipartisan track record. I'm rooted in progressive ideals and policies: criminal justice reform, Green New Deal, Medicare for All, free education, clean air and water. These are ideas I have fought for my entire adult life.

But some people in groups like the DSA are pushing an agenda FAR outside those ideals. Supporting Hamas is not progressive. "No police, no prisons, no borders" is not progressive. Celebrating the murder of Israeli civilians is not progressive. These ideas are REGRESSIVE.

If there were no police or prisons, if anyone in your neighborhood could do whatever they wanted, while politicians cheered on terror groups — would that represent PROGRESS to you? No, that would be a step back. Those are REGRESSIVE ideas.

On the other hand, if everybody could see a doctor when they got sick, get a good, free education and breathe clean air — would that represent progress? Yes. Those are PROGRESSIVE ideas.

They are NOT the same thing. And the difference matters.

Some defend the far left by claiming they only want Nordic-style social democracy. If that were true, I might applaud them. I want those policies, too! But what does universal healthcare have to do with Hamas? With abolishing all law enforcement? With erasing all borders? With treating every wealthy person as a villain? Ideas matter. And these are terrible ideas.

Right now, extremists are trying to sneak backwards proposals into our party, hoping mainstream Democrats are too frustrated with MAGA and the Democratic Party establishment to notice.

But we see you.

Yes, we want our Democratic Party to be a big tent. But we don’t need "party poopers. So STOP pooping in the punch bowl — and telling us the turds are ice cubes.

They aren't. And we are smart enough to know the difference. 💩

Don't get me wrong; most Democrat voters will stick with their insane candidates, but it's unlikely that Democrat voters who are genuinely moderate will follow them.

Unfortunately, genuinely moderate Democrats have been and are a dying breed. Most Democrats will believe what they are told at any given moment, and deny they held insane beliefs even five minutes ago. They don't think; they repeat.
