I'm convinced that one of the reasons why normie Democrats still vote for their party is that they really don't take seriously what the far left says, nor do they believe that the radical left's ideas have any real consequence.
I say that because I know plenty of liberals who are decent people who generally want things to be kinder, cleaner, more peaceful, and just pretty normal. They are not socialists or radicals, although they certainly are, from what I can see, ignorant about the relationship between America's wealth and the free market.
Anybody who says something as silly as, "America is the richest country in the world, but we don't provide free X," when other countries do, needs an economics lesson.
America is the wealthiest country in the world BECAUSE we don't seize all the wealth and redistribute it. The bigger and more intrusive the government is, the more sclerotic the economy.
Whatever. My point is that most liberals don't yet understand how the Democratic Party is rapidly becoming the home of revolutionaries who hate America and want to tear it down. Nor do they understand that the Democratic Party establishment is becoming reconciled to the fact that the powers that be must bow down to the radical left or be excommunicated.
That's why Kathy Hochul is taking smiling pictures with Zohran Mamdani, and Obama is chatting with him on the phone. The future is anti-American socialism.

It's not that the anti-American socialists are hiding their views, as they once tried to do when they were infiltrating our institutions. They are extremely open about their hatred of America and their desire to tear it down. All those land acknowledgements, statues being torn down, DEI curricula, mandatory alphabet ideology, and the systematic takeover of our K-Graduate school system are there for all to see.
I know plenty of liberals who frown at this stuff, but they really don't believe that it is anything but cosmetic, or that the radicals have anything but good intentions.
Sure, they go too far, but the intent is good.
Back when I was lobbying the Minnesota State legislature for lower taxes, I watched a debate on school curricula on the House floor. A Republican started reading straight from the bill and the textbooks that it would require. What was there was so appalling that the Democrats got up and booed.
It must be lies! No sane person would require that, so obviously, he was making it up. They refused to look at the evidence because the scale of the evil was so vast as to be non-credible.
Except it was all true. Straight from the bill (which nobody reads) and the curriculum.
The lesson I learned was that if you are going to be evil, go so big that nobody will take it seriously. You can advocate for anything ridiculous on the left because ordinary liberals will just assume you are exaggerating. And even if they suspect that what you are saying is true, they assume it will be mostly harmless.
No, friends. They really do want to destroy our civilization. They believe it is evil, tell us so, just as the Islamists in America will explain that they intend to take over the country and install Sharia law. Imams will preach it from the pulpits, and Muslims will march in the streets saying so, but liberals just don't take it seriously.
Most don't approve. Really. They just think it is harmless rhetoric.
