Yesterday I wrote about Senator Ron Johnson's interim report that exposed the Biden administration's conspiracy to downplay the risks of the COVID vaccine, which they knew caused heart damage in some recipients--especially young men. 

I say conspiracy because it was. Not only did the CDC and the FDA choose to bury evidence that the COVID vaccine had serious side effects in some people, but they also denied that it did for months despite knowing otherwise.

Of course, if you followed the studies closely, you could find out this information. I, and many others, knew about the risks many months before the news broke out into the public realm and government officials conceded that the side effects were "very rare," although they couldn't resist adding that the risks of myocarditis from COVID were potentially greater, which MIGHT matter but for the fact that getting the "vaccine" did nothing to prevent infection from the virus, meaning that people susceptible to this side effect will be subject to both the risk from the vaccine AND the risk from COVID itself. 

Regardless, hiding facts from the public violates basic medical ethics. Informed consent. Have you heard of it?

Well, after four years, the FDA is finally requiring that vaccine manufacturers actually inform patients of the known risks of getting the jab, although vaccine manufacturers still have the right to appeal the decision. 

Which brings me to my point: when these facts first came out the CDC, FDA, the Biden administration, and a whole host of "fact checkers" worked mightily to censor anybody who brought this up.

We were science deniers. Misinformers. Slandered. Silenced. Deplatformed. Or, in the case of people like me writing at sites like Hot Air, demonetized. We were labeled "unsafe," and advertisers were told to stay away. Search engines would push results including us down the list, so nobody would see our articles. They tried to put us out of business, and indeed it cost us money.

The thing is, we were telling the truth, and they were pushing lies. We were trying to save lives, and the government was trying to...well, if not exactly kill you, they were indifferent to your health as long as you complied. If a few of you or your friends, children, or other relatives died, that was for the greater good. 

Has any of the bad actors out there--the ones who violated the Constitution, basic medical ethics, or even the ones who almost certainly funded the creation of COVID paid a price? Even a small one?

Nope. They are still celebrated, given awards, nice sinecures, and in some cases still pushing censorship of ideas they don't approve of. 

As evil as these people are, I don't believe that Rochelle Walensky or even Dr. Fauci wanted people to die. Their evil was more banal than that. They worried about their bureaucratic positions, their careers, their reputation among others in the elite, and they also wanted to force evil MAGATs to comply. 

Admitting the truth, or even letting others speak the truth, undermined those goals. So if a slew of teenage boys were harmed or killed, then they were the eggs broken to make the omelette. 

It's pretty easy for somebody in a position like theirs to justify that. After all, in pursuits like medicine, there are always side effects, and with vaccines in particular, one is forced to make a calculation that accepts that a small amount of known harm must be accepted to provide what is hoped to be a lot of benefit. All vaccines can cause side effects, and if you ever bother to read the informed consent forms, you will see that some small fraction of people will be harmed by whatever medicine or vaccine they take. 

Most cases of polio these days are vaccine-induced. In fact, if you read about a polio case today, it is almost certainly the result of an oral vaccination that went wrong. Yet public health officials run the numbers and judge that, on balance, more lives are saved than lost by mass vaccination. 

When you are in that profession, it is easy to stretch the reasoning a bit farther. Maybe young men or even infants won't benefit from the vaccine, but telling everyone to get it and that it is perfectly safe will encourage everyone to do so, right? That must be good! If you muddle the message, too few people will get it!

So they lied. They censored. They slandered. They told pregnant women to get it and to jab infants who won't benefit. And if people are hurt, they are just broken eggs out of which you make that omelette. 

It's hard to say which medical scandal from this century will be judged bigger. Is it "gender affirming care?" Or COVID vaccines? 

Hard to say, although I would put my money on the latter just because of sheer numbers. Throw in closing schools, increasing mental health crises, including suicides, missed diagnoses from delayed care, and all the secondary effects and the COVID response will have killed millions and harmed countless more. 

A lot of people tried to warn everybody, but until recently, who would you trust? The CDC and the FDA or some randos on Twitter and Facebook?

These days, you are better off with the randos--at least the ones who spent time reading the studies and seeking out the information being hidden by our government.
