The "preservers of democracy" are at it again. And Maine appears to be ground zero for the nutty #resistance.
Sure, Illinois is in the running for most insane, and California has its share of nutty anti-Trumpers. But from the governor down to the local schoolteacher, Maine seems to have the most deranged per unit of population.
Maybe round them up into camps first... this way you can concentrate them in one place and make it all more efficient.

Wait a sec... I'm confused. Who are the fascists again?
As you no doubt know, Maine Governor Janet Mills is going balls to the wall--how do I KNOW she is a woman if even she cannot distinguish between the sexes?--to fight the Trump administration on the issue of putting boys in women's sports.
Even though 64% of Mainers oppose allowing boys to bash the heck out of girls and take their trophies, Mills is willing to forego federal funding for education rather than give in on her quixotic desire to force the issue.
That, at least, is a political fight, not a call for actual violence.
As is the fight over whether or not a member of the Maine House of Representatives can speak or vote--a question that should be easy to answer. Representative Libby has been censured and banned from participating in the lawmaking process because she knows the difference between boys and girls.
Maine is a political s**tshow.
There is little that is "merely" political about JoAnna St. Germain's call for Trump's assassination, along with all his supporters. She is motivated by politics, but calling for murder is calling for terrorism.
What's striking about St. Germain's call for the Secret Service to kill Trump and his advisors is how unself-conscious it is. She, as an "expert" teacher, believes that the creation of a Praetorian Guard which decides the occupant of the Oval Office and which executes democratically elected officials at will is the definition of democracy.
What the hell do they teach in Education School these days?
A high school English teacher in Maine has allegedly called for the Secret Service and U.S. military to assassinate President Donald Trump, his supporters, and top Trump advisors.
JoAnna St. Germain, who teaches at Waterville Senior High School, appears to have made the concerning remarks on her Facebook page, prompting investigations by police and the school district where she is employed.
“The Secret Service has the perfect opportunity, if they choose to step up and take it. You are the ones with power. Coordinate,” she reportedly wrote in a post published Tuesday. “Take out every single person who supports Trump’s illegal, immoral, unconstitutional acts. Look at the sycophants and give them what they’re asking for.”
“I’m not talking about assassinating a president,” St. Germain appeared to rationalize. “A president is a person duly elected by the American people. Tr*mp has shamelessly bragged openly about stealing the election. He is making plans to give himself a third term.”
“Secret Service, you are Americans. My beloved military, you are Americans. We, the people, are counting on you,” the post continued. “If I had the skill set required, I would take them out myself.”
"I am not talking about assassinating a president." How very Critical Theory of you. Assassinating Trump would not be assassinating a president, because she decides who is a legitimate president or not. Redefine the word, and all problems go away.
After immense backlash, St. Germain doubled down on her alleged calls for assassination, but narrowed down the number of Trump supporters she wants murdered to Trump’s top advisors.
“I am so sorry you took that post to mean that all Republicans should die,” she reportedly posted Wednesday. “I have no beef with Republicans. I have no beef with MAGA. I meant that those in the room with Trump, who are permitting and approving his egregious actions, need to be held accountable.”
The teacher further said that she’s aware she might lose her job, but is “not backtracking a single thing.”
“I believe Trump and every sycophant he has surrounded himself with (this is not you – if you’re reading this, this doesn’t apply to you. You are beneath his notice and mine) needs to die,” St. Germain’s post read. “I believe this with the same forceful belief that Hitler and his sycophants needed to die, before they murdered 6 million innocent Jewish persons.”
People send their kids to be taught by this sociopath. In fact, unless they pony up money to send them to private schools they are forced to do so by the state.
St Germain is under investigation, and the Superintendent of the schools and the local police have opened investigations, but it is unclear what will eventually happen to her. Legally, I am not certain what, if anything, can or should be done to punish her, but clearly her job should be yanked from her in an instant.
It's unclear if she has been suspended during the investigation. Surely there are contractual issues given he power of the teachers' unions.
That there are insane people in every walk of life shouldn't surprise anyone, but that her fellow teachers can continue to describe her as "kind" tells you a lot. "She’s a very kind person, so this feels a little out of character.”
Uh, I have news for you. She pretends to be kind.
Inside, she is a fascist.
