According to a recent poll of Democrats, AOC is seen as the leader of the Democratic Party by the largest percentage of Democrats. 

Admittedly, that lead is small--the field is fragmented so badly that nobody has over 10%, according to a CNN poll. Barack Obama represents the current Democratic Party values, gettingbless than half the support that AOC has.

But the person rocketing to the top of the list in recent weeks has been Jasmine Crockett, who apparently believes that she has an advantage over AOC in the race to the top of the heap: darker skin and the ability to adopt a more ridiculously ethnic accent than AOC's.

Crockett, who has been around two years, is already seen as much a leader of the Democrats as Barack Obama, who has been a political icon for more than two decades. That is impressive--as well as indicative of just how far gone the Democrats are. 

AOC has to step up her game. While she mouths all the economic and social Marxist nostrums that are common on the left, Crockett explicitly adopts a facade of being from the streets, as if that adds to her street cred. 

Here we go again. More violent language from the unhinged Democratic Party.

Crockett actually comes from a very privileged background, speaks unaccented standard English flawlessly, went to prestigious private schools, and became a lawyer. None of which qualifies her for leadership in the modern Democratic Party, even with its elite's focus on credentials. 

Stupidity, anger and passion are the tickets to the top, so Crockett mimics these qualities well, and adds in a strong dose of personal nastiness to give a bit of spice to her appeal.

Crockett is everywhere on TV, and Republicans are wrong to believe she is stupid. Instead, she is cunning, knowing where the ideological center of the Democrat Party is, and she is determined to outflank her opponents vying for leadership of the activist wing of the Party.

it's working. While ordinary Democrats are only vaguely aware that she exists--AOC has a much longer tenure and a somewhat higher profile, Crockett has the potential to lap her once she gets up to speed. Ideologically, they are allies, but politically, they are competitors, and I suspect both are greatly aware of that fact. 

And Crockett is much smarter than AOC, who is genuinely dumber than a midwit if not a full-blown halfwit. 

I don’t use this word often, but Jasmine Crockett truly is wicked.

Center-left Democrats will keep telling themselves that people like AOC and Crockett are the fringe while Barack Obama is the center of the Party. They will keep telling themselves that until they get slapped in the face by reality. 

The reality is that the Democratic base has veered so far left that they are in the other lane, steering the country right into the oncoming traffic of a reality that will leave this country in wreckage. 

And the wreckage will have be so bad, so obvious, so undeniable that even people who believed Biden was a moderate, sharp as a tack president, that COVID came from a wet market, that the vaccine would prevent infection and transmission, that men can become women, and that Fauci was a saint will have to admit that perhaps they got it wrong. Think about it: many of these people believe that Adam Schiff is a truth-teller. It will take that car crash and a societal near-death experience to wake them up. 

"Our intentions were good. We didn't know!" 

The good thing is that swing voters won't flock to Bernie, AOC, Crockett, or any of the rogue's gallery of extremist or oily Democrats. These people are more in the Fetterman camp than the Crockett corner.
