The Washington Post has decided not to endorse a candidate for president this year.
Ed has a post coming up discussing the matter, so I won't go into the reasoning or provide an analysis of what is behind that decision. Ed has been in this business longer than I have and is, frankly, better at that sort of thing. He is one of the best analysts I have ever met and a lot more dispassionate in his analyses.
The Post, as far as I know, is the second major newspaper to bow out of the endorsement scramble this year after the Los Angeles Times (a very liberal newspaper) decided not to endorse either Trump or Kamala Harris. In that case the decision, we are told, came down from the owner, and the editor decided to quit.
So what are they going to do about it? The whole Post editorial department should walk out. https://t.co/4iW2u4b8N1

I don't know the backstory to the WaPo's decision, but I do know that Jennifer Rubin was all over the L.A. Times' failure to endorse, and applauded like a trained seal when an editor resigned. She called on the entire editorial board to do so in protest.
Yesterday @JRubinBlogger applauded an LAT Times editor who resigned when the paper refused to endorse. She asked "where are the rest of them?" expecting more resignations

Now that WaPo is not endorsing, resigning from the paper seems like the honorable thing for her to do. pic.twitter.com/CfV8zutnzp
If there is one thing I know about Jennifer, it's that she is principled, consistent, utterly rational, and doesn't care about fame, money, prestige, or any of those worldly concerns most of us make compromises for. She is a warrior for truth, justice, and the American way.
So, no doubt, she will resign.
One would suspect Jen will follow suit and resign after its paper decided it wouldn’t endorse Kamala.

Oh who are we kidding…. https://t.co/3jGXaj895M
She sees the dark forces of Nazism marching to Washington so she will bravely stand on principle and leave the Post to become a door knocker for Kamala Harris, and if Harris loses, she will stand on the ramparts to beat back the Nazi hoards as they storm Washington D.C.
Right?
The Washington Post has called Trump a threat to democracy, literally hitler, etc., for years...

But they won't endorse his opponent, Kamala.
That's how bad of a candidate she is.
Millions of Americans will applaud Jennifer if she courageously resigns, not so much because we admire her but because we don't, but keep that part a secret. We don't want her to decide that sticking around at the Post would be a good way to annoy MAGA because, well, she is actually a spiteful little troll.
am hard pressed to think of anything more frightening than a figurehead Trump free to seek revenge on his enemies while Vance steers the country toward fascism. https://t.co/Vbq2L8jswV

Jennifer is deeply concerned about Democracy Dying in Darkness; so much so that after Biden's infamous Independence Hall speech that was stage-managed by Leni Riefenstahl, she called for mass arrests of Republicans.
Someone willing to go so far as to throw the fascists like you and me in jail surely is willing to take a principled stand and quit her job at the Washington Post and perhaps take up arms herself to defend us against literally Hitler.
You should resign. It’s the only way to show them you mean business.

Attia claims her life is on the line. You have to love that level of derangement.
I love that J.D. Vance is the real fascist mastermind, according to Rubin. Listen to him as he reveals his dark vision for America:
NEW: Theo Von podcast listeners are mindblown to find out that JD Vance is not actually weird after the media ran a "weird" campaign against him for months.

Another media hoax. Shocker.
Almost every comment on Theo Von's YouTube channel is from viewers who were shocked to find… pic.twitter.com/gyA6l06Usd

“The Marines dude, that was the original ozempic”@TheoVon is probably one of the funniest off the cuff comedians today. @JDVance @ThisPastWeeknd pic.twitter.com/CqFnm4uXVn
Worse than Hitler, right? Weird.
Will Rubin resign? I suppose it is possible, but it would be disappointing in a way. She is so deranged, so implausible in her arguments, and so shrill that it is kinda funny once you get past taking her seriously.

Rubin, of course, is just a stand-in for all the insane anti-Trumpers. She and George Conway could do an unintentional stand up act at an insane asylum somewhere.
As of now, I have yet to see Rubin come out and resign. No matter which way she goes, I will enjoy watching the freakout.
These people are hilarious.

An endorsement is just moral preening. It wouldn't move a single voter.
They have too high a view of themselves. https://t.co/zW9WgCDtTk
