It's True: Every Country in the World Wants to Influence Our Election

I have some shocking news: Russia wants to influence the US election.

There are few times I would agree with Merrick Garland and the MSM, but on his recent accusations against Russia I find myself partially in agreement.

I also think that Russian interference is nothing more than a minor annoyance compared to what we have been seeing from the United Kingdom, the European Union, Brazil, and especially the Chinese Communist Party.

Chinese spies and influencers are sprinkled throughout our government and business, throwing money around to media and academic figures, and spewing fairly sophisticated propaganda onto social media at an astonishing rate. They have, through TikTok, a direct route into Gen Z's brains.

The European Union tried to censor the former President of the United States IN the United States, literally trying to silence the Republican candidate for president on US soil. Israel, too, does everything they can to influence the US electorate, as does EVERY SINGLE ALLY AND ADVERSARY in the world.

We do it too, quite effectively in many cases and ham-handedly in others. We are, rightly or wrongly, currently in a spat with Venezuela over its elections, going so far as to seize assets because we doubt their election's results.

This is called international politics, and while it can be ugly, so can everything else in politics because it involves power, money, and guns aimed at civilians as well as military folks.

I am not justifying it because what is the point of approving or disapproving of a law of nature? As long as governments can help or hurt people in other countries, you will see people in other countries trying to influence in foreign countries.

The current suggestion that Trump and Russia are especially tied together is absurd. It's pretty clear that the EU has more sway over our elections through regulating Big Tech than Russia has in producing a bit of misinformation. Iran is literally paying protesters who use violence and intimidation to alter our policies and elections, yet people in Washington shrug about this. 51 lying intelligence officials have done more to interfere in our elections than any foreign country.

Although if Iran had succeeded in assassinating Trump as we know beyond doubt they tried to do, that would have been worse. Nobody in Washington seems to care much about that, though.

Today's 'shocking" announcement that Russia is yet again trying to influence American elections is hardly newsworthy and far less important than China's, the EU's, or Iran's more important forays into US politics. Merrick Garland isn't warning America that Putin is a Trump lover; he is trying to smear Trump by linking him to Russia.

Iran is a direct adversary of the United States and vowed to destroy the "Great Satan," and has followed through with hundreds of attacks on US citizens and assets. The fact that Biden and Harris keep shoving money at them to fund this outrage bothers me a lot more than Russia running a social media account with 7 followers.

Do I care that Russia is trying to influence our elections? Not much, really. The influence the FBI, CIA, mainstream media, and the collective power of the transnational elite is far more frightening than some idiotic and hardly influential Russian sites. I dislike Putin as much as the next guy, but Xi Jinping is a much bigger threat, and the European Union is agitating to take away my right to free speech.

Cries of "election interference" are a political distraction, not a serious threat about which the government can do much. TikTok is a bigger threat than some rando Twitter accounts and unvisited websites--and the government seems fine with TikTok poisoning minds and Instagram pushing propaganda at kids.

I am so tired of the histrionics. Sure, I'd like Russia and everybody else to shut up about our elections, but frankly I want the EU and Merrick Garland to shut up even more.
