Sometimes reality just slaps you in the face.
That happened to me this morning as I was perusing Twitter gathering my morning news. Among the bits and pieces I picked up was video from an incident that happened a couple miles from my house.
You can watch the video and decide what you see:

The group of violent pro-Palestine protesters had people waving the Hamas flag before they attacked the elderly driver. https://t.co/efoG5a5VDn

To me that looks like a crowd swarming a car, with people opening the door and threatening the driver. If it had been me in the car I would have been scared out of my mind.
To the MSM and most of the people writing about the incident (which, by the way, got zero coverage in the Minneapolis newspaper the Star Tribune) it was an anti-Palestinian zealot attacking the peaceful protesters.
So I went to read the Minnesota Public Radio piece–which doesn’t feature the video–and this is what I read:
Minneapolis police are investigating after a man drove a car through a demonstration for Palestine near Loring Park Sunday afternoon.
According to witnesses, a number of protesters had moved into the streets near the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Lyndale Avenue just before 3:30 p.m.
Organizer Meredith Aby said some were stationed at the busy intersection of Lyndale and Hennepin redirecting traffic toward the Walker Art Center to ensure the safety of protestors.
“We were trying to keep people from driving through this area, because we didn’t want people to get hurt by a car,” Aby said, “because there were thousands of people who were in who were overflowing from the park. And so we were trying to protect the, you know, the space around the protest.”
About an hour into the rally, witnesses said a car drove toward a group of the demonstrators.
Video obtained by MPR News appears to show a crowd of protesters surrounding the car and driver before he drove again. After he was stopped by protesters for a second time, he appeared to lunge at them with a knife or box cutter.
Makes it sound like this guy was a raving lunatic threatening all these peaceful protesters, right?
Is that what you saw in the video? It sure wasn’t what I saw. And as for lunging at them with a knife? Why, exactly, would he be doing that? Could it be all those people who opened his car door as they surrounded his vehicle? It’s not like he jumped into the crowd and tried to stab anybody. He was in his car–if anybody was at risk of being stabbed it was because they were lunging at HIM.
MN City Council candidate Zach Metzger blocked off a highway and terrorized an old white man driving past a pro-Palestine riot
He posted the video today and instructed his followers to find the old man. He has since deleted the post. We saved it.

The protesters are lucky he didn’t have a permit to carry. Any reasonable jury would view those videos and come to the conclusion that his life was in danger. Of course, there aren’t reasonable juries in Minneapolis, so he likely would wind up in prison.
Note how there is not one mention of an injury among the protesters. A 2 ton vehicle could do a lot of damage if the driver wanted to harm anybody. The only evidence that anybody was in danger was the swarming crowd. Yet the story is spun as peace-loving Hamas supporters being viciously attacked by White Man in Car.
Minnesota Public Radio tells you the story of a vicious anti-peace protester trying to harm the peace-loving protesters. They chose to SHOW you nothing.
So what did the largest newspaper in the state report about the incident? You know, the paper based in Minneapolis, with offices about a mile away from this protest?
Here was its front page online:
It’s all peace, love, and harmony in Diversityland.
The MSM has a narrative they want you to believe, and have no compunction about lying to you in order to get it across. The videos are widely available on the web, they simply chose to describe them rather than show them.
Why? You know why. They want you to believe them and not your lying eyes.
