The Life of Brian must be rewritten because some parts might be considered offensive.
Now it’s pretty clear that The Life of Brian might be offensive, in the way that Blazing Saddles or Airplane! might be considered offensive. Much of the humor depended upon skewering Christianity, so, of course, it was offensive. It was also hilarious.
Life Of Brian was written by Chapman, Cleese, Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. It tells the story of Brian Cohen (Chapman), who is born on the same day as Jesus (his next-door neighbour) and mistaken for the Messiah.
But no, it isn’t Christians trying to cancel the funny parts of Life of Brian. It is the alphabet crowd.

The particular scene that caused such storm and strife that it must be removed offends…guess who? Transgender folks.
Watch the scene and you will immediately see that everything that has come to pass regarding the idiocy of modern discourse was predictable, and predicted. If you were smart and paying attention you could see it all coming, and Monty Python put it on the screen in 1979, almost 45 years ago.
How could they have seen so far ahead? Most people don’t know this but the Monty Python crowd were hypereducated. Cleese, for instance, went to Cambridge. Terry Jones and Michael Palin went to Oxford together. Eric Idle was a Cambridge man. Terry Gilliam is an American, so he went to college at Occidental.
Cultural Marxism was all the rage even back then in academia, if not yet dominant. The 1960s and 70s academic institutions were already filled to the brim with revolutionaries who wanted to upend everything, and Gramsci’s long march through the institutions had already begun.
So yes, if you paid attention, you could see it all coming. Which is why this scene in Life of Brian was so prescient, as Cleese himself notes.
Cleese told an audience at his one-man show last week that when the scene (co-written with the late Graham Chapman) was performed at a read-through for the new show in New York last year, doubts emerged. ‘At the end, I said to the American actors: ‘What do you think?’ And they said: ‘We love the script, but you can’t do that stuff about Loretta nowadays.’
‘So here you have something there’s never been a complaint about in 40 years, that I’ve heard of, and now all of a sudden we can’t do it because it’ll offend people. What is one supposed to make of that? But I think there were a lot of things that were actually, in some strange way, predictive of what was actually going to happen later.’
It is impossible to overemphasize how tyrannical cultural Marxism, of which alphabet ideology is only one part, is. There is literally no part of human life that it will not destroy if it challenges the new catechism. This ideology is a cult, not an intellectual or social philosophy, and like all cultists it hates everything that challenges the alternate reality that it demands all accept.
Worshipping a false god, just like this:
Humor is dangerous to cults, because it pierces the veil of fake sanctity. Which is why so much of humor today is not funny. We get hectoring harridans, not satirists.
This is what counts as brillian humor in the 2020s. Netflix paid millions for this:
Chelsea Handler and the alphabet ideologists of the cultural elite don’t tell jokes. They lecture people and call it humor. We are supposed to applaud a woman who insists that her life is better without children because she can wake up late to do mushrooms. Apparently living life sober is so intolerable that one has to take psychodelics in order to get through the day.
Handler is happy that she will die alone and unmourned. Or, more likely, get the final goodbye from a white-coated murderer who eases her on her way with a slightly different group of drugs than the ones she used to get through her days.
I prefer the Monty Python approach to humor, laughing at the absurdity of the sheep who aspire to be nothing more than unthinking followers.
Unfortunately, the Chelsea Handlers of the world cannot abide that, and are busy shutting up the people who can see clearly.
