Morgan Wallen was caught using the N-word once in a private exchange. His career collapsed. Radio stations yanked his songs. Major country music awards shows blocked him from appearing.
That's just part of the massive fallout. It's a miracle he was able to rebuild his career, piece by piece, to regain his superstar status.
Hunter Biden repeatedly used the N-word in text messages. And nothing happened.
It's actually worse than that. Legacy Media outlets aggressively ignored the story. The Daily Mail and The New York Post covered it, and that's more or less it. The Root, an outlet dedicated to black culture, covered it while shrugging its digital shoulders. The same Root held Wallen to a much different standard.
Even Snopes tried to do damage control on Biden's behalf, saying the claims were unproven because they were tied to the First Son's laptop scandal. The Legacy Media pretended the laptop story was "disinformation," which we knew then and now was a lie.
That wasn't Biden's only scandal, of course. He was paid millions by Burisma despite a shocking lack of expertise in critical areas. He introduced his late brother's wife to crack cocaine, a path that led to her addiction. He frolicked with prostitutes, did massive amounts of drugs and pled guilty to tax evasion.
When he opted to become an "artist," buyers came out of the woodwork to scoop up his handiwork. Hmmm.
This is all setting aside the more nefarious allegations against both Hunter Biden and his famous father. Now, here's how Variety covered Hunter Biden's newest venture.
CAA has signed a deal to represent Hunter Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, in a pact that could have the storied talent agency seeking out new ways for the former attorney and current painter to promote himself or tell stories in a variety of ventures.
Next, we get a description taken directly from a CAA press release:
Biden in recent years has turned to art, working primarily in abstract, mixed-media pieces exploring themes of memory, transformation, and the natural world. He works mostly from his studio in Los Angeles, where he tries to utilize “bold chromatic choices, layered textures, and an intuitive approach to composition.
Wow. Just wow.
Then again, there's nothing new here. The media wasn't the only group to ignore Hunter Biden's N-word scandal. Late-night comedians haven't touched him as a political figure of sizable ridicule. Jimmy Kimmel lobbed softballs at the First Son during their 2021 exchange.
Heck, those late-night institutions have been harder on Natalie Harp, the bone cancer survivor who works for President Donald Trump.
Hunter Biden may even have a future in the Democrat party. He'll have to turn on Israel, embrace DSA policies and demand a return to his Daddy's open-border policies.
Anything is possible. And sites like Variety will help make his comeback possible.
