Michelle Obama can't forgive Trump for birther movement

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is gearing up for the launch of her book, a memoir titled “Becoming”, set to hit the bookstores Tuesday. You probably will not be surprised to learn that she slams President Trump and just can’t get over that whole birther movement thing.

Michelle and Barack Obama received a book deal of more than $65M which will no doubt go a long way to easing her angst. These kinds of books have to have some juicy parts to increase interest for sales and apparently the headline coming from Michelle’s book is that she blames President Trump for threats to her family springing from his insistence on seeing Barack Obama’s original birth certificate. Trump placed doubt in the minds of many Americans of Barack Obama’s citizenship.

A literary agent made the claim originally, though, as Barack’s first book was being promoted. That is where the story began to get legs. Trump jumped on the bandwagon after Hillary Clinton’s top supporter, Sidney Blumenthal spread the narrative that Obama was born in Kenya back in 2008. A campaign volunteer in Iowa did the same and was fired. Naturally, the anti-Trump media doesn’t bother digging deeper than to simply report that Michelle holds a grudge against Trump. (AP)

Obama writes that she assumed Trump was “grandstanding” when he announced his presidential run in 2015. She expresses disbelief over how so many women would choose a “misogynist” over Hillary Clinton, “an exceptionally qualified female candidate.” She remembers how her body “buzzed with fury” after seeing the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape, in which Trump brags about sexually assaulting women.

She also accuses Trump of using body language to “stalk” Clinton during an election debate. She writes of Trump following Clinton around the stage, standing nearby and “trying to diminish her presence.”

Trump’s message, according to Obama, in words which appear in the book in darkened print: “I can hurt you and get away with it.”

Let’s just unpack that, shall we? Michelle Obama spouts the trope that all women must support women candidates, no matter differing political philosophies. Remember when former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said there’s a place in hell for women who don’t support other women when Hillary Clinton was running for president? Funny, I don’t hear liberal women saying that in support of conservative women running for office. In fact, conservative women running for office are usually ignored unless reporters can call them crazy or completely unqualified. This past mid-term election cycle all but completely ignored victories of conservative women which include Young Kim, the first Korean-American woman elected as a member of Congress and Kristi Noem, the first woman elected governor of South Dakota.

And, about that “stalking” move to imply Trump could “hurt” Hillary on the debate stage. Please. It’s a common move made in debates. Yes, it’s aggressive but hardly implies physical violence is imminent. Surely I’m not the only person who remembers Democrat Al Gore doing the same to Republican George W. Bush in a debate during the 2000 presidential campaign.

Women voters chose a “misogynist” because Hillary Clinton is the ultimate corrupt grifter in American politics who enabled her abusive husband to remain in office after having a sexual relationship with an intern in the Oval Office. She expected to be coronated and was a really lousy candidate. She offered nothing to regular Americans concerned about everyday concerns like jobs and feeding their families. During her time as Secretary of State, she allowed an American ambassador to die in Libya and other Americans to try and fend off an angry mob of terrorists for more than 13 hours without providing military assistance. That alone disqualified her for higher office for me. I have heard the story of Benghazi from two of the men involved on the ground and I can tell you that once you hear the story from them personally, you cannot forget it. I was in a small setting and there was not a dry eye in the place as they went through that unforgettable experience.

Poor Michelle was in shock when President Trump won the election and she tried to block it all out. Lol! The complete meltdown after the results were announced was quite the sight to behold, wasn’t it? I was as surprised as anyone that Trump pulled off the victory but it was a huge relief to me.

Michelle Obama is going to make a ton of money off this book. She’s enlisted her pal Oprah to do an event with her as she kicks off the book tour. It isn’t a regular book tour, mind you, it is a series of big arena events with ticket prices going for up to thousands of dollars. Some money will go to local charities in the host communities. I think she’ll be just fine whether Donald Trump is in the White House or not.

When asked about Michelle’s inability to forgive him, President Trump said Friday that he would never forgive her husband for “what he did to our U.S. military”. No doubt she was counting on him pushing back and helping her publicity.

“She got paid a lot of money to write a book and they always expect a little controversy,” Trump said.

“I’ll give you a little controversy back, I’ll never forgive (President Barack Obama) for what he did to our US military. It was depleted, and I had to fix it,” Trump said. “What he did to our military made this country very unsafe for you and you and you.”

So, there you are. Trump is a counter puncher and Michelle Obama’s events will no doubt provide future comments to entertain his supporters. No doubt he will help sell a ticket or two. She should write President Trump a thank-you note.
