I'm going to say this right off the top - there is NO WAY TO KNOW AND NO INFORMATION CONFIRMING OR DENYING that this recent event had anything to do with the current, tragic situation at the Dallas ICE facility.
But with all the current speculation about the possibility of yet another Antifa attack, Gavin Newsom running his mouth last night about Trump's kidnappings...

...and the generally inflamed rhetoric on the Left, period, this seemed to be important enough to watch, as well.
Two days ago, officers with the Dallas ICE office detained a fellow by the name of Marwan Marouf. This is how the local TV station characterized the incident in their report:
Beloved Dallas Muslim community leader detained by ICE after decades of service in North Texas
Not inflammatory at all.
A well-liked Dallas Muslim community leader was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Monday, according to the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA).
MLFA said Marwan Marouf, a leader with Muslim American Society's Dallas chapter, was stopped by ICE agents early Sept. 22 after dropping his son off at school and heading to work.
In a statement, MLFA said it has represented Marouf for more than six years as he sought lawful permanent residence in the United States. The organization stated that Marouf arrived in the U.S. more than 30 years ago as an international student, later marrying and raising a family in North Texas.
According to MLFA, Marouf’s employer sponsored his temporary work and permanent residence applications for 15 years before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) began questioning his charitable activities.
There's no mention in the article about what sorts of 'charitable activities' Mr Marouf was involved in that would cause the government to question them, or, as one line alludes to, that the denial of his 30-year-in-waiting green card was related to 'the decision reiterated prior findings from more than a decade ago.'
All it talks about specifically is how Marouf started a Boy Scout troop, not a thing about what activities the government finds objectionable enough to hold a green card off for decades, and finally deport this outstanding community member.
These guys had something to say, of course.

And it does give one a clue when you see who Marouf's most ardent defender was, as he immediately jumped to the detainee's defense on social media - Dr. Omar Suleiman.
ICE took the heart of our community. I’ve known Marwan Marouf pretty much my whole life. He would drive for hours to be with me in my darkest and happiest moments. In Dallas, he was managing meal trains to hospitals and shelters during COVID and winter storms. He’s been there for… pic.twitter.com/uHbTyKY6iZ

...In Dallas, he was managing meal trains to hospitals and shelters during COVID and winter storms. He’s been there for everyone in his life with unmatched grace. He’s the definition of service and sacrifice. ICE abducted him after he dropped his kid off at school yesterday. You better believe we’re going to fight for him with everything we’ve got, because that’s what he’d do for every one of us. #BecauseOfMarwan
He's a preaching peach.

With a national profile.

My brief address at the National March on Washington today. This was dedicated to our brave student activists arbitrarily detained by ICE at the behest of Israel. pic.twitter.com/hmbUZmFDD5
Suleiman's X bio says he is 'rooted in Palestine' but 'born and raised in New Orleans' and a cursory Google search of his name, along with the Yaqueen Institute he serves as founding president of, turns up a fair amount of anti-American, anti-Semitic articles. There are also conferences where Suleiman has been either an invited speaker or has invited well-known 'radicals' to introduce them to his followers.
Sharing the love, so to speak.
This is one of the close associates of the Dallas detainee, Mr. Marouf. Of whom the government has yet to release its objections regarding his charity work - I am interested in reading what they were.
Another possible detractor for Mr Marouf's reputation outside the Muslim community is the fact that he is reportedly an Elashi brother-in-law. Now, that doesn't ring many bells outside of Dallas, but what it means to those who pay attention to Islamic terrorist organizations is that Mr Marouf is related to the family that ran the notorious Holy Land Foundation, a Palestinian aid society, many of whom eventually wound up with lengthy prison sentences
Holy Land Foundation and Leaders Convicted on Providing Material Support
to Hamas Terrorist OrganizationToday, in federal court in Dallas, U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis sentenced the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) and five of its leaders following their convictions by a federal jury in November 2008 on charges of providing material support to Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization.
"Today's sentences mark the culmination of many years of painstaking investigative and prosecutorial work at the federal, state and local levels. All those involved in this landmark case deserve our thanks," said David Kris, Assistant Attorney General for National Security. "These sentences should serve as a strong warning to anyone who knowingly provides financial support to terrorists under the guise of humanitarian relief."
HLF was incorporated by Shukri Abu Baker, Mohammad El-Mezain, and Ghassan Elashi. Mufid Abdulqader and Abdulrahman Odeh worked as fund raisers. Together, with others, they provided material support to the Hamas movement.
I don't know how the feds think, but being related to these guys, hobnobbing with characters like Suleiman, and still needing a green card after thirty years might be red flags that it was time for you to go.
Dallas seems to be a dangerous place for all the cowboys. oil and an all-American vibe. There are undercurrents there that I am sure are being watched carefully.
ICE already has a very dangerous job. There are so many ways to easily make it worse.
I hope they find out quickly what happened today and hammer whoever was responsible if there is more to it than one man on a rooftop.
Beege ADDS: They were having a press conference as I finished this.
I do not believe this new information on the attack would lead me to believe it was someone upset about Marouf, but, then again, they haven't identified the shooter either, so all bets off.
The ironic thing is that an anti-ICE shooter wound up waxing only detainees while trying to kill ICE agents. These sick, SICK individuals are so dangerous.

Authorities have identified the gunman responsible for Wednesday’s deadly sniper attack outside a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn.
The attack left four people dead, including Jahn, and has prompted widespread concern about security at federal operations.
The incident unfolded shortly before 6:40 a.m. on September 24, 2025, when Dallas police received reports of shots fired near the 8100 block of North Stemmons Freeway.
Investigators determined that Jahn positioned himself on the rooftop of a building adjacent to the ICE facility and opened fire on an unmarked van transporting detainees as it entered the premises.
Three detainees were struck by gunfire.
