Promises made...

..."The Pentagon is legitimately scared of Pete Hegseth because of his opposition to DEI. Keep in mind - the Defense Department is spending is spending around $86 BILLION on various DEI initiatives."

"It doesn't make any sense why my brother [who serves] should be required to sit in trainings about 'white rage' and about how 'he can be a better solider by keeping his white supremacy in check.'"

"Pete Hegseth wants to ROOT THAT OUT. I think that's a very noble aim, and I think the opposition stems from his opposition to those things."

The biggest fear for the TV generals is that Hegseth gets in there and ends their BS.

...promises kept starting at the tippy top.

Firing 'only the second black general EH-VAH,' you can tell how the media is handling this already.

President Trump abruptly fired Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on Friday, sidelining a history-making fighter pilot and respected officer as part of a campaign to rid the military of leaders who support diversity and equity in the ranks.

The ouster of Brown, only the second Black general to serve as chairman, is sure to send shock waves through the Pentagon. His 16 months on the job were consumed with the war in Ukraine and the expanded conflict in the Middle East.

 Dear CBS,

May I make two points? First, General Brown already had a well-established and far different approach to the military than that which the incoming administration is trying to restore. The sort of sentiments General Brown advocated simply won't fly in the professional military the Trump team envisions.

He bent an official military knee to the mob in 2020...

...and in 2022, as Chief of Staff of the Air Force, he signed off on published 'aspirational goals' for the Air Force. These directed the service to 'develop a diversity and inclusion outreach plan' which essentially discriminated against white males in their efforts to make that service 'more representative of our nation.'

And had Brown's tenure as Joint Chief head been truly 'consumed' by Ukraine and the Middle East, he wouldn't have time for the crap that got him fired even with his abysmal DEI record.

But you can't take the woke out of the prog as they finally reach a position of power where they can mandate their agenda. Oh, hay-yull, no.

Oh. I forgot - let me also point out that, unfortunately for the butthurt crowd, besides Brown's appalling performance, there's something known as 'precedent.'

CALL A WAAHMBULANCE

Between white rage hunter Thoroughly Modern Milley and his woke loser successor, the institutional harm done has been so profound. I hope to God it's not enduring and can be surgically carved out and cauterized, never to return.

In that vein and towards that end, the scalpel kept slicing last night.

DOWN GOES CNO

...Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also announced in a statement Friday evening that Chief of Naval Operations Lisa Franchetti and Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force James Slife were also being fired. Franchetti made history in 2023 when she became the first woman to lead the Navy.

Franchetti was informed in a call from Hegseth that he intended to replace her, a defense official told CBS News. The call occurred before his statement was issued.

Judge advocates general for the Army, Navy and Air Force were also being replaced, Hegseth said.

I hate when they make a big deal about canning 'first woman,' and she's been an absolute disaster.

Besides the drag queens and pronoun lessons from petty officers, the simple fact of the matter - and the whole reason the Navy exists - is the fleet's condition. Right off the bat, the ships look like s**t.

...The USCG keeps cutters gleaming—so why can’t the Navy?

Here’s why it’s happening, why it’s completely unacceptable, and why fixing the problem should be a priority for @PeteHegseth

As my friend CDR Salamander so righteously said:

Whatever is going on, IT NEEDS TO STOP, RIGHT NOW

...Send her back to her homeport in Japan. Get her fixed.

A US Navy warship looking like that, in the Pacific, especially in Singapore, is a strategic liability. This is far beyond a Navy issue. Have her leave Singapore the next practical evening, no earlier than 30-minutes after sunset, no later than 30 minutes before sunrise. Make sure she enters port in Japan no later than 30-min before sunrise.

Recall C7F to DC in the next fortnight. Arrive in SDBs at an office designated later by SECDEF and await further instructions once there.

Next slide.

Perhaps it just did STOP RIGHT NOW.

Where things were looking up for the Navy with the promise of a professional military inherent in Trump's return to office and Hegseth's confirmation...

...a change at the top could ice that cake. Make the ships sparkle again.

Now, if they just s**tcan the Marine Corps commandant, too, I'll be dancing a jig. Gen Smith needs to GO for turning the Corps into a defensive as opposed to offensive force and for lying about his part in imposing DEI on my beloved Corps.

The story of the LtGen nominated to replace Brown is pretty astonishing, as these things normally play out.

Not only is he a rank below what presidents typically pick from - three stars instead of some other four-star floating in the ether who needed a gig - he's never held a combatant command or been a service head (he's an F-16 pilot), and TRUMP PULLED HIM OUT OF RETIREMENT.

Donald Trump remembers people, and General 'Razin'' Cain had gotten a job done in no time at all that other experts said couldn't be done.

That's Trump's kind of guy - a man of action.

Dan Caine may not have been on Washington's radar before Friday night. But President Donald Trump's fascination with the retired three-star general, his surprise pick to become the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, appears to go back to their first meeting in Iraq in 2018.
Caine, then the deputy commander of a special operations task force fighting Islamic State, told the president that the militant group could be destroyed in just a week, Trump recalled during a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2019.

Since then, he has retold the story about how he met "Razin" Caine multiple times - and the praise has only grown more effusive.
"He's a real general, not a television general," Trump said in Miami on Wednesday, two days before his Truth Social post catapulted Caine from retirement to a nomination to be the most senior active-duty officer in the U.S. military.

OMG, are heads ever going to explode in that once-rarified, ever-so-politically-correct Pentagon O-10 air.

Gen Cain has quite a meaty Joint Special Ops resume, even without the typical tickees for promotion (probably why he didn't get one.). This guy likes to fight.

What a change in tone this confirmation hearing is going to have, no?

WOOF

I hope he watches Hegseth's carefully as the winged and shrieking Maizie/Gillibrands will be out in full force.

They make Nazguls look like rank amateurs.

Welcome aboard, sir.

Delighted to have you here.

Damn. I mean, DAMN.

I can't stop smiling.
