Rocky Mountain high: CO teachers union instructing members to destroy evidence

When I first saw this this weekend (and picked it up for our Headlines section) I thought, “No way would they be that bold.”

Once you get into the meat of the story you find out that, not only were they bold enough to suggest it, they also were kind enough to give teachers specific “how-tos” circumventing both state and federal law, and parental rights. They didn’t whisper them in a phone campaign, either. Flat out sent instructions in a union email.

…At issue are student surveys about gender identity. While the school district says it’s unclear whether surveys about students’ preferred pronouns are illegal, there are several lawsuits regarding the issue. So, administrators told teachers – just don’t go there.

The teachers union told them something else. An email from Jefferson County Education Association (JCEA) to teachers says, “if you do a questionnaire, please make it a paper and pencil activity – any digital records are more permanent and may be requested under federal law.”

The union also encouraged teachers to “make your notations about students and not hold on to the documents.”

One of the mothers with a Jefferson County grassroots parents organization called “Jeffco Kids First” said she was shocked when, after an email went to every district employee from the school board prior to opening for the fall reminding them that “state and federal law prohibited mandatory surveys about protected information” and voluntary ones as well unless parents could opt-put, her son can home with a survey.

Denise Crawford said the survey was querying her young lad on his “gender identity,” with scores of fellow JeffCo parents as surprised and furious as she at the contents of their children’s backpacks in those first couple weeks of school. Dozens of teachers happily surveyed their students’ gender identities in direct contravention of instructions and statutes.

…”Deceived, lied to, taken advantage of,” she said.

The union, these parents assert, specifically told the teachers how to carry on without being accountable for breaking the law.

Disingenuously insisting the district didn’t speak clearly enough, the union says it was difficult for teachers to know what they could or could not do.

Au contraire, says even the reporter for the story. Plain as the nose on your face.

…The union says the district has given contradictory directions regarding preferred pronouns but a slide the district sent teachers is hardly ambiguous.

It says, “please no preferred pronoun/gender identity questionnaire. Do not promise to keep information from parents.”

It’s no wonder the teachers union – and by extension, teachers – believe they can act with impunity when it comes to the children entrusted to their care, especially in blue states, as Colorado surely seems to be anymore. Look at the verbiage in this CO public radio report love song on the current battles between schoolboards, teachers, and parents. Parents who would like accountability, and are demanding a say in what is now the curriculum for their children, after discovering what has been.

I believe you’ll easily see who the “heroes” and definitely who the Luddite villains are.

Angry clashes at school board meetings. Books removed from library shelves. Discussions of critical race theory being banned from classrooms. In recent years, there have been countless stories about local school districts across the United States becoming battlegrounds where conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion have found their way into schools, classrooms, and school board meetings.

But fixing an entire education system isn’t simple. At the heart of these issues are the questions: Who gets to decide what’s best for our children? What topics get to be included in the curriculum? How can educators make schools a place where every family feels like they belong? And how do we keep students safe?

Some parents claim they have the right to choose what their children learn in public schools, while others look to teachers, educators and superintendents to lead the conversation.

SOME parents CLAIM THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHAT THEIR children are learning…”

Got that? The arrogance and sense of entitlement is breathtaking.

These teachers are on a holy mission to convert the children and they have a Greek chorus on every side urging them forward.

They are NOT YOUR CHILDREN, peasants.

They are the collective’s.

These are all the same spawns of the main CO teachers union, the Colorado Education Association (CEA). That radical organization issued a truly woke edict in May that answers a ton of the “Who TF do they think they are?” questions.

They shouldn’t be allowed within 50 feet of a classroom.

Adam Smith was a Scottish economist who died in 1790, and why should we care?

What is Adam Smith’s economic theory?
Adam Smith’s economic theory is the idea that markets tend to work best when the government leaves them alone

Ah.

You have to know the hive masters at a socialist, virtue signaling union would hate that. The CEA felt like the time was right to throw down their WOKE AF marker. And so they did.

Colorado teachers union adopts anti-capitalist polemic

The Colorado teachers union confirmed adopting an anti-capitalist polemic at its 97th Annual Delegate Assembly.

The Colorado Education Association, which represents more than 39,000 K-12 teachers, support professionals and higher education staffers, held its assembly in April and passed this resolution:

“The CEA believes that capitalism inherently exploits children, public schools, land, labor, and resources. Capitalism is in opposition to fully addressing systemic racism (the school to prison pipeline), climate change, patriarchy (gender and LGBTQ disparities), education inequality, and income inequality.”

This is the progressive teacher who authored the Colorado communist manifesto.

Neat, huh?

These lunatics believe all your children are belong to them.

And they don’t need no stinkin’ laws to stop them.
