Big doings this time, and so far we’re not hearing it has anything to do with lifting ladies’ bags from an airport carousel, but news is still coming out.
Sam Brinton, former Biden deputy assistant secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy and admitted luggage thief, was reportedly spirited from his home last night by Montgomery County (Maryland) Police, charged with being a “fugitive from justice” and held with no bail. There’s a switch.
…A neighbor told The Daily Wire that “four unmarked police showed up last night, they would not let his spouse Kevin leave. After about an hour Sam Brinton was escorted out in handcuffs.”
Brinton is set to appear for a hearing before Judge Victor Del Pino on Thursday afternoon.

For a quick recap of flashy Sam’s spectacular rise and literal flame-out, there was the obligatory, self congratulatory chest thumping from the Biden administration when they hired this puppy-porn, drag-queen disaster.
…The Biden administration had proudly announced Brinton’s hiring, one of the first non-binary, LGBTQ hires in government.
Yay. Worked out so well.

If only someone could have seen this coming.
Former Biden official Sam Brinton has been arrested as “fugitive from Justice” after stealing luggage from multiple airports. If only there had been some warning signs…https://t.co/j4tECHlHgJ pic.twitter.com/UrtVhDJskV

But they didn’t, and multiple women lost expensive luggage, beautiful clothes and underwear to this light-fingered luggage lifter. Until, at long last, someone recognized her bag rolling out of the baggage claim area in the hands of this creature, and it all started falling apart on Samsonite Sammy.
He was making LGBT-alphabet soup history for the Biden administration again.
…Brinton made history last year as the first nonbinary federal official to face felony charges for stealing women’s suitcases from airports in Minnesota and Nevada. The former official, a well-known figure in the sexual fetish community who teaches classes on the “science of spanking,” drew a six-figure, taxpayer-funded salary and benefits for more than a month after his first arrest in November. Brinton was dismissed from federal service in December.
Charges for theft were eventually filed against Brinton in both Las Vegas and Minneapolis, MN when other women retraced their own baggage losses, identified both their bags and Brinton, and he subsequently had court appearances in both locales.
So, here we are now. While it’s a perfectly ludicrous touch for a completely ludicrous figure when the Montgomery County cops use his “they” pronouns in the answer to a press inquiry…

…there is one little gem buried in that response. MCPD would advise “contacting AIRPORT police“?!?
Do not even tell me this deviant was at it AGAIN?!
Or schmaybe – bear with me here – schmaybe, if he wasn’t actually in possession of someone else’s possessions, perhaps he’d run afoul of the truly sweet terms of his plea deal from the court date earlier this spring in Minnesota (and, again, the pronoun thing is just ridiculous).
Samuel Brinton, the former Department of Energy official, has entered adult diversion stemming from their theft of luggage last September from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
As part of the adult diversion program, Brinton must have a mental health evaluation, must write a letter of apology to the victim, return any stolen property, and complete three days of community service.
Or could it be that something went awry with the similar arrangement he agreed to with Las Vegas authorities?
A former Energy Department official pleaded “no contest” Wednesday after they were seen on video stealing luggage at Harry International Airport in Las Vegas.
Samuel Brinton agreed to pay the victim restitution of nearly $3670, received a suspended jail sentence of 180 days, and must stay out of trouble, according to Las Vegas Justice Court records. Brinton pleaded “no contest” to misdemeanor theft. Nevada state law specifies that the stolen amount is less than $1200. Brinton originally faced a charge of felony theft since police said the stolen amount was $3670.
Brinton, who is non-binary and uses the pronouns “they” and “them” stole luggage from a baggage carousel last July.
The Washington Free Beacon alludes to a third suitcase incident I’d forgotten about.
…It’s unclear if Brinton’s arrest Wednesday is related to allegations that he stole a third suitcase from a Washington, D.C., airport in 2018.
Plus, I’m not sure if this third case is the Tanzanian designer who alleged Brinton stole her fashion show wardrobe or something else entirely.

Gracious, this is intriguing. There’s so much to work with.
**UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE**
Took a couple hours for more information, but finally got some.
HEAVENS TO MURGATROYD, the “airport police” line was, indeed, the tip-off.
And yes – the THIRD TIME WAS THE CHARM.
…Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, who oversee Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, and Washington Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia, confirmed to the Washington Examiner that the arrest was on charges of grand larceny.
“Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police executed a search warrant May 17 in Montgomery County, Maryland, in connection with allegations of stolen property in luggage from Reagan National Airport that was brought to the department’s attention in February 2023. With the assistance of Montgomery County Police, Samuel Otis Brinton, age 35, of Rockville, Maryland, was taken into custody Wednesday pending charges of Grand Larceny,” MWAA Police said in a statement to the Washington Examiner.
Good grief. This is beyond nuts.
Well done, Biden administration.
The clown show just never lets up.
