Fellow Representative's Son Among Those Rescued by Rep. Cory Mills in Israel

Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI) is a grateful father. His House colleague, Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) has rescued 96 Americans from Israel since the Hamas attack 11 days ago. Among those he has flown home is Rep. Huizenga’s son, Adrian, a student at Jerusalem University College.

There is no argument – Rep. Mills is a hero.

His office arranged for a charter aircraft that could hold 218 passengers to fly stranded Americans home. The flight home was free of charge for them. Mills is a decorated Army Combat Veteran and a member of House Armed Services & Foreign Affairs Committee. We could use more elected representatives in Congress like him.

I watched an interview on Fox News Channel this morning with Rep. Huizenga and his son. They spoke about Adrian’s rescue. Huizenga contacted his friend and colleague, Rep. Mills, and Mills assured him he would bring his son home. Adrian said he came in contact with Mills’ operation on Friday and by Sunday he was safely in his own home. This is what struck me – Adrian spoke about the process that most Americans are finding difficult to maneuver in Israel, put forth by the State Department. He said that on Sunday, as he sat in his own home, the State Department contacted him to ask how they could help him. Adrian had followed instructions and yet the State Department’s slow response was also inefficient.

Cory Mills and others like Governor Ron DeSantis are doing what the Biden administration seems incapable of doing. They are bringing Americans home from a war zone.

That led me to ponder why Joe Biden traveled to Israel. Why did he go? I know he wants to show strong support for Israel and encourage the rest of the free world to rally to Israel’s side of this war. But this is a red hot war zone and the feeble 80-year-old American president has no business being there, at least not right now. Granted, he was slow to deliver remarks about America’s support of Israel, as it took him about four days to do so, but he has made statements since then. He sent both Secretary of State Blinken and Defense Secretary Austin to Israel and the region to show support.

The Biden administration led off on the wrong foot when Hamas entered Israel and massacred Israelis (and Americans) and took others hostage. Some, like Blinken, urged restraint and de-escalation in Israel’s response. Immediately, the administration felt the blowback on social media and rightly so. They were completely tone-deaf and clueless. Those tweets were either deleted or re-posted as clear messages that Israel is entitled to defend itself. Good Lord.

Today I listened to Joe Biden make a speech in Israel. He did not mention the hostages and he did not mention Iran. Hamas is a proxy for Iran and it is clear that Iran funds Hamas. Yet, the Biden administration continues to deny there is any proof that Iran is behind Hamas and its terrorist actions. This new war in Israel has exposed the depth of the Biden administration’s appeasement to Iran. I don’t understand this level of appeasement to a regime that wants to kill us. Iranians chant “Death to America”, as do Palestinians and Gazans. Yet, as soon as Biden came into office, his team renewed JCPOA negotiations that the Trump administration (wisely) walked away from.

A watchdog group has exposed how the Biden administration funds Hamas and the P.A., skirting American law.

Biden had a photo op with Prime Minister Netanyahu. He is not going on to meet with the Jordanian president because he canceled the meeting yesterday after reports of a bombing of a Gazan hospital blamed Israel. It was propaganda from Hamas but many journalists were eager to run with the story and blame Israel. Some American lawmakers also repeated the false story. The first American-Palestinian in Congress was among the first to do so. Rep. Rashida Tlaib still has a post up with the disinformation, though it has been discredited.

Sounds a little threatening to POTUS, too. Yeesh.

Tlaib was scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the Seize the Moment US Campaign for Palestinian Rights National Conference later this month in Houston. The hotel has cancelled the conference out of safety concerns for its staff and guests. They can Seize the Moment elsewhere.

How about personnel in this administration who are questionable, at best? Take Nejwa Ali, for example. She is a former spokeswoman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) who now works for DHS and determines who gets to enter the U.S. as an immigrant or an asylum seeker.

Now the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officer is repeatedly posting pictures of Hamas terrorists parachuting in with guns and writing, “F*** Israel and any Jew who supports Israel,” a Daily Wire investigation found.

Nejwa Ali worked in 2016 and 2017 as a public affairs officer for the Palestinian Delegation to the U.S., which according to its own website, served as the “PLO office in D.C.” That office was expelled from the country by the Trump administration, but Ali landed on her feet, according to a screenshot of her LinkedIn profile, securing a job at DHS as an “Asylum Officer,” where she was tasked with “applying immigration laws and regulations to asylum applications.”

This January, she moved over to being an Adjudication Officer for the U.S. Customs and Immigration Service (CIS). People with that job, according to the agency, “analyze new or amended legislation and policy, prepare written reports of findings, and review and make determinations on cases for immigration benefits.”

She vets those who want to enter our country. Who vetted her?

This may be too cynical for some readers, and if so, I understand. I think Joe Biden rushed off to Israel, even after half his trip had to be canceled, after 11 days, because he is running for re-election and his poll numbers are horrible. Remember when Putin invaded Ukraine and lots of civilians began going to Kyiv and meeting with Zelensky? Celebrities like Sean Penn met with Zelensky before leaving the country. He was filming a documentary there. World leaders made the trip. Among the first was former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson. There were usually videos of the world leader and Zelensky strolling on the streets of Kyiv, as though there is no war going on. Joe Biden was the last of the Western leaders who support Ukraine to visit. Here he is now, though, in Israel on the Day 11.

What Biden did do was repeat a story about his first trip to Israel as a new senator. Of course, he botched it.

There was this, too.

Biden is not showing strength. He makes the United States look weak on the world stage, certainly it looks like we are being led by a weak and infirmed man because we are. Shuffling off to Israel wasn’t some show of strength or bravery. It looks like an old politician trying to hold on to his job.

The only message Biden has given to would-be attacks that would broaden the new war is “Don’t.” He cautioned Israel about occupying Gaza, though, because that is his administration’s default position – restrain Israel. Unbelievable. Hamas has to be destroyed. Period. He even mentioned that he still supports a two-state solution today. Biden is not up to the job. He has to go. The world is a much more dangerous place since he took office.

Thank God for heroes like Cory Mills. And Ron DeSantis. Americans who step up and protect Americans when Joe Biden will not.
