The Duchess of Dior: One last shot at cashing in for Meghan before the spotlight fades

She’s being called the Duchess of Dior in anticipation of a major deal with the fashion house. The Duchess of Sussex, a.k.a. American actress Meghan Markle, is rumored to be on the verge of signing on as a social media influencer for Dior. It is her last shot at a big-time deal to cash in on her royal title?

Meghan and Prince Harry have spiraled so far down that British media have begun to refer to them both as grifters. The two live like Euro-trash while pretending to be wise and woke with words of wisdom about nothing at all. They are standard liberal elites who lecture about climate change as they hop on a private jet. They accept awards for nothing. They received deals worth millions and millions of dollars because American companies like Netflix and Spotify thought they were big catches, that Americans would be as besotted with them as Hollywood initially was.

Americans yawned. Meg and Harry are lazy and unable to inspire. Harry cashes in on airing personal grievances against his family, a family that still provides for him though he has walked away from his royal duties. Meghan thought marrying Harry was the Golden Ticket and she would turn his family into the picture of Woke. How ignorant. The family thrives on tradition and ceremony. No one cared what Meghan thought about race relations. She proved divisive and unable to fit into a family that had no interest in treating her as special.

So, Meg and Harry quit. They moved to California to become neighbors with Oprah and live the fabulous life of wealthy Californians. Most delicious of all was their demand for privacy. The couple who did things that screamed “Look at us!” played victims of the press. It’s all too much, especially for Americans who don’t give a flip about the royals in England.

What’s a couple of royals to do when the gravy train starts to run out? No more millions from Spotify. The Netflix deal hangs on by a thread. So, naturally, the next logical step is to turn Meghan into an influencer on social media. She can rake in millions by being Insta-famous. It looks like Dior is about to rescue the duchess. Megs is ready to reinvent herself. She’s gone from being a C-List American actress who set her sights on marrying a prince, to the duchess, back to a Californian (this time living very large), and now she’s ready to be paid to post photographs on Instagram. She’ll follow the likes of Kim Kardashian or any other celebrity who makes crazy-big money for being a social media influencer.

For now, everyone is keeping quiet about the potential deal, except for whoever it is that is leaking the story to the press. It’s just a coincidence that a Dior deal may be in the works at the same time that Spotify and Netflix are coming forward with how their deals with the couple have imploded, right? No. Meghan and Harry are trying to save face at this point.

An unnamed Beverly Hills socialite alleged to The Mail on Sunday that the Duchess of Sussex is in the process of penning a deal with Dior to “re-invent” her image. The source insisted that the possible bid from her talent agency, William Morris Endeavor, is “all anyone is talking about.”

“Meghan and Dior would seem like a logical fit,” Christopher Andersen, author of “The King,” told Fox News Digital. “It’s a very tentative first step into the endorsement world and a very upscale one at that.”

“Appearing in glossy ads for an haute couture house like Dior isn’t likely to shake things up the way the Duchess of York did when she started doing commercials for Weight Watchers,” Andersen shared. “By the way, Fergie also had endorsement deals with Wedgwood, Avon, and Charles Schwab – not to mention a whole series of book and TV deals – so there’s precedent for what the Sussexes are doing.”

Anderson went on to say it’s a logical step for Meghan to take. Perhaps we’ll see Harry doing Rolex ads in the future. Who knows?

Everyone is remaining silent or denying a deal is being drawn up but Meghan has a history of working with Dior for special occasions. Harry has worn Dior, too.

But there is reason to believe that Dior would be an ideal fit for the former “Suits” star. Her love for the brand has been well-documented over the years. For her son Prince Archie’s christening in July 2019, she opted for a white Dior day dress. That same year during her royal tour of Morocco, she chose a crème Dior gown. For Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, she wore head-to-toe Dior. And for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022, she wore a Stephen Jones for Dior hat.

Her husband has also donned Dior for engagements. Prince Harry wore a suit by the brand for his father’s coronation in May, as well as for his recent court appearances, the outlet pointed out. A source close to the couple told the outlet that the Duke of Sussex inherited his “long-existing relationship with the house from his mother” and that he “likes working with Dior, and wearing their clothes.”

Dior’s relationship with the British royal family goes further back beyond Princess Diana, the outlet revealed. Christian Dior himself was said to be “infatuated” by Princess Margaret’s hourglass figure. The late queen’s sister became an inspiration for the designer. She went on to routinely wear his pieces.

Anyway, Dior likes the prestige of working with royals from various countries, not just England.

Charlie Rae, a former royal editor at The Sun, is saying that Meghan is trying to tell Hollywood executives how to do things.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry appear to not “know anything” about how things are done in Hollywood, a royal commentator has claimed.

The former royal correspondent went on to claim, “Many TV executives are saying these two just don’t know anything about the way it was. Most of the salvo goes towards Meghan because she is the dominant one in this partnership when it comes to Spotify and Netflix. And she’s now telling executives who’ve got oodles of experience more so than her acting appearance in ‘Suits’… how to run Hollywood. Come on, girl. Get a grip.”

So, there’s that.

I admit I’m an Anglophile. At least I was during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Now, not so much. The rise of the next bunch of royals has pretty much ruined it. Harry wanted to be a part of Hollywood, and Meghan wanted to marry a prince. Yet, it’s all turned into crap because they are not prepared for anything. No one feels sorry for them because they bring it all on themselves. Meghan is not as clever as she thinks she is. Perhaps she will get her Dior deal. She and Harry have likely reached the end of the road for grifting in a big way. Everyone is over it.
