Jacqui Heinrich is one of Fox’s White House correspondents who, like her colleague Peter Doocy, is not afraid to ask a pointed question or two of White House Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre or any Biden administration official. Today she was shut out from asking a question of an administration official about the death of a migrant teenager who died in DHS custody. The shocking part of the story is that the reporters were required to submit their questions in advance.
A virtual briefing was held for the press and after questions were submitted, officials read them out loud and answered them. Top priority was place on reports of the death of a teenager in custody at the border who died. Jacqui Heinrich’s question was not answered. After seeing the tweet Jacqui posted to report on being forced to submit a question in advance of a White House press briefing, I assume her question would have been about Biden’s thoughts today as opposed to in 2019 when he tweeted that the death of a migrant minor was unacceptable.
Biden in May of 2019.
Today as reports circulate of a migrant child death in US custody – hours after title 42 is lifted – Biden admin officials forced reporters to submit pre-written questions and ignored FOX’s question on this reported death. https://t.co/CdWRWYkOih

That last tweet came after Jacqui posted about the screening of questions earlier this morning. Good for her.
“It’s not who we are.” Is it who we are in 2023, Joe? So far there has not been a peep from Biden.
How did the Biden administration handle the first White House press briefing after Title 42 expired? KJP trotted out Mitch Landrieu, Biden’s senior advisor responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. That’s right. KJP and Joe Biden tried to distract reporters on the first day of Title 42 not being enforced with the guy in charge of distributing checks for all the slush funds created in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
So, after that “Squirrel!” moment happened, KJP faced two or three questions about the border. Why hasnt’t the president spoken about Title 42, why hasn’t he been out there addressing the migrants directly? KJP had no answers. That includes when she was asked by Jacqui why the DHS or HHS websites have not been updated with the numbers of unaccompanied minors in custody. KJP had no answer. There is no mention of any death of minors, either, including the recent one. KJP said she can’t address that because a medical investigation was opened on Tuesday about that teen’s death. KJP was eager to blame Republicans for being over-dramatic about the Biden border crisis. Really? What is more dramatic than a country losing its sovereignty? A country without borders is not a country.
So why hasn’t Joe Biden spoken to the American people about Title 42 and its expiration? He should have had an Oval Office address about it in primetime on all the networks. The demise of our southern border is a big effin’ deal but Biden continues to try to ignore it. He isn’t brave enough to face reporters with a press conference about the border and he’s apparently not able to do an Oval Office address either. So much for President Most Transparent Evah.
Today HHS released a statement about the migrant teen’s death. The location of the death has not been provided. No information on the minor has been released due to safety concerns.
“The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is deeply saddened by this tragic loss and our heart goes out to the family, with whom we are in touch,” it said.
The message continued, “As is standard practice for any situation involving the death of an unaccompanied child or a serious health outcome, HHS’ Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Division of Health for Unaccompanied Children (DHUC) is reviewing all clinical details of this case, including all inpatient health care records. A medical examiner investigation is underway.”
KJP said during Friday’s press briefing that she was saddened by the death. She also said that she hasn’t spoken to Biden about it and doesn’t know if he has been briefed on it.
Other than Biden saying the border will be “chaotic” for a while, he’s said nothing to address what is happening on the southern border this week. It’s a further dereliction of duty by the president. Losing operational control of our border is an impeachable offense. I’m not one to cry impeach whenever I don’t like what a president is doing but in this case it should be looked at. The Biden border crisis is an unthinkable humanitarian and national security crisis. Border communities are suffering. Border states are left holding the bag to provide services for migrants crossing the border illegally. The end of Title 42 makes it even worse.
