Donna Brazile forwarded 2 more questions in advance but says her conscience is clear

Last month I wrote about a leaked John Podesta email in which Donna Brazile wrote, “From time to time I get the questions in advance.” Her email to Podesta included the wording of a question about the death penalty that town hall co-host Roland Martin would ask Hillary Clinton the following day. Since then CNN has cut all ties with Brazile and CNN’s president, Jeff Zucker, called her behavior “unethical” and “disgusting.”

But it turns out there was more to that email chain. A few hours after sending the death penalty question, Brazile sent two more, one for Senator Sanders about income inequality and one for Hillary Clinton about unions. Here’s what Brazile forwarded to the campaign:

UNIONS Secretary Clinton, yesterday in St. Louis, you spoke at carpenters and others “who built this nation.” Both you and Senator Sanders depend on big union support. President Obama pushed for a massive infrastructure bill that would mean millions of jobs for in this area. Yet many of these trade unions have locked out Blacks and other minorities for years. Will you call a meeting with them before November, and if you win, when you are president, to demand that the trade unions stop freezing Blacks and others from these good paying jobs?

INCOME INEQUALITY Senators Sanders, you and Hillary Clinton have often talked about the problem of income inequality. Many other Democrats have. Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. has talked about the lack of economic upward mobility for Black and other minorities in Silicon Valley and corporate America. Yet Power Pac Plus did a study showing that four years ago, the Democratic Party spent $514 million on consultants, and only 1.7%, or $8.4 million went to minority-owned firms or firms with at least one minority principle. How can the public be assured that either one of you or the Democratic Party can fix income inequality when the same party practices it?

Here is the question about unions which Roland Martin asked Hillary during the town hall the next night (this comes at 53:30 in the clip below):

Martin: Secretary Clinton, yesterday you were in St. Louis and you talked about carpenters and the rebuilding of the country, the folks who built this nation.

Clinton: Right.

Martin: And both you and Senator Sanders have significant union support, yet many of the trade unions that we talk about would build the country, they have locked out black folks and minorities for decades. Would you, even right now and even as president, call a meeting with the trade unions and say ‘it’s time for you to open up those doors and bring in more African-Americans, more Hispanics and others because those are high paying jobs and we keep saying rebuild America with a huge infrastructure and billions of dollars, they’re the ones who are going to do it and black folks and others are going to be left on the outside looking in.

It’s the same question though Martin is embellishing a little bit. And it’s the same for the question Martin would ask Sanders about income inequality. If you want to compare it to the text above you can see it at 6:48 in the clip below. Again, the question is for Sanders but it’s being forwarded to the Clinton campaign not the Sanders campaign.

Despite the now overwhelming evidence that she gave the Clinton camp questions in advance, Donna Brazile gave a radio interview Monday saying her “conscience is very clear.” From the Hill:

“My conscience, as an activist, as a strategist, my conscience is very clear,” she told host Joe Madison on his Sirius XM broadcast Monday. “When I said what I said, I said it, and I’m not going back on it.”

“But also understand that throughout the primary season, whether it was 2008, 2004 or 2000 whatever, 2016, I was in touch with everybody,” Brazile added of the Democratic presidential primaries she’s been involved with.

Donna Brazile has lost all credibility. She’s been caught in a blatant lie and refuses to admit what she did was wrong. I can’t imagine why the DNC would want to keep her as the face of the party after tomorrow.
