A car crash killed a motorist as Rome Police Department (RPD) officers responded to a bomb threat at the home of Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, according to officials.
The RPD told Atlanta News First that a woman died in a vehicular crash involving an officer responding to the incident. Tammie Pickelsimer, 66, passed in front of the officer’s vehicle, Georgia State Patrol said.
Greene took to social media Monday evening on the woman’s behalf.
“I’m heartsick right now. I was just informed that an innocent woman died today in an auto accident involving a member of the Rome Police bomb squad who was responding to the threat at my home,” Greene wrote on X.
