Very discouraging, but here’s another poll question I’d like asked, though I fear the answer.

How many of them, unprompted, could name a prophet? Even one?

Is “unprompted” unfairly difficult for this generation? Okay. How many of them could say who Moses was or that he carried down from Mt. Sinai the moral law of the West, or tell the tale of Abraham and the covenant, the “origin story” of our civilization.

I ask because I suspect the most significant factor in the resurgence of Jew hatred in the US is the decline of Christian faith, and specifically the rise of the ‘nones’ who eschew all religion. I would really, really like to know how many of those who cheered the murders and rapes of October 7 describe themselves as “spiritual but not religious.”
