This doesn't speak much to John Fetterman, nor to his voting record. It doesn't say much about the Pennsylvania Senate Democrat's politics either, which may run slightly to the left of the Joe Biden of 2020, at least in terms of public presentation.
Rather, this update from Punchbowl speaks very loudly about the Keystone State's Democrats in 2026, and to the party at large. The outlet checked in with the state's House Democrat caucus to test the waters for Fetterman's expected run for re-election in 2028, and ... not a single one of Fetterman's colleagues would endorse the incumbent Senator. Not one:
Want a sense of how tenuous Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-Pa.) position is with Pennsylvania Democrats? Not a single Pennsylvania House Democrat in the delegation will say Fetterman should run for reelection as a Democrat.
Fetterman isn’t up for reelection until 2028. But Fetterman’s tendency to vote for President Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks, publicly criticize his fellow Democrats and appear non-stop on Fox News has led to speculation that the incumbent could switch parties or leave the Democratic Party. ...
We wondered whether Pennsylvania Democrats on Capitol Hill would offer support for Fetterman’s reelection as a Democrat. No one would.
That's quite the change from 2022. Four years ago, Democrats circled the wagons around Fetterman after he suffered a serious stroke and cognitive damage, claiming that it was more important to secure the seat for the party rather than worry about any short-term deficits Fetterman may be experiencing. Democrats wanted a reliable vote in that seat rather than worry about how Fetterman sounded.
Ironically, Democrats have flipped 180 degrees on that question. Suddenly, it matters entirely how Fetterman sounds rather than his voting record. The latter remains reliably Democrat, Salena Zito reminds us today, but it is Fetterman's criticism of radicals that have hijacked the party:
Fetterman threw up his hands and laughed at rumors that he plans to switch parties to become a Republican.
“I would be the worst Republican. I would still continue to vote the way I always do,” he said, referring to the high number of times he votes with his party. He added for emphasis: “I am a Democrat.” ...
Despite voting with Democrats the vast majority of the time, when Fetterman does not vote in lockstep with his party, a torrent of criticism from the left is unleashed not just on social media, but also from Democratic members of his delegation.
Ironically, this started almost immediately after the Hamas massacres of October 7, 2023, well before Donald Trump returned to office. Fetterman sided with Israel and became an instant target for the radical Left that once backed him even while clearly struggling with cognitive issues. Their targeting has never had much to do with how Fetterman votes, and the data at GovTrack makes that clear. In 2024, Fetterman voted with his caucus more often than more than half of its members, with their ideology score ranking Fetterman the 17th left-most Senator at that time. (The 2025 and 2026 scores will come out next year when this session of Congress closes.)
David Marcus sums it up well:
Fetterman does not hold a single position that wasn’t mainstream in the Democratic Party in 2020. Not one. That’s how fast the party embraced Islamo-Marxism. Stunning. https://t.co/SsocHIQhHk

That's exactly what has happened to the Democrat Party. The Democrat socialists have thoroughly infiltrated it and remade it from the inside out to become a party of revolution rather than governing. Fetterman's voting record is beside the point; he is not part of the proletarian revolution and therefore must be discarded. The rest of the Democrats in the House and Senate are frightened enough of the radicals to refrain from resisting, so much so that they won't even endorse a man who votes more with his caucus than half of its members.
Fetterman represents the Democrat Party when it wanted to govern rather than rule. And that's why he's increasingly alone.
Editor’s Note: The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.
