The nomination of North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum to serve as Secretary of the Interior has been confirmed in a 79-18 vote.

Burgum, who will be eighth in line to the presidency, will oversee around one-fifth of the United States’ landmass (500 million acres).

Ed: This seems promising for Gabbard. A little surprising, in fact. Tom Cotton has already endorsed her, and there are few Senate Republicans more hawkish on Russia and China than Cotton.
