Via Greg Hengler, this just goes to show if you’re gonna dream, dream big, kid. Big in this case refers to Big Government, and the dreamer is Hilda Solis, explaining with intermittent coherence what the Obama administration is busy defending these days. “At this critical moment in time,” Solis tells the National Action Network convention today, “we have to understand what the President is fighting for.” So what’s it all about? “It’s about fairness in the workplace,” Solis insists, “it’s about fairness in education, and it’s about fairness in terms of what services are provided by government. And if we can’t have a say-so in that,” Solis warns, “then this isn’t the dream that all of us have aspired to be a part of.” No, seriously:
I’ve got news for Secretary Solis — we all have a say in government policy. That doesn’t mean you will get your way. And as far as our collective “dream,” you and your allies might fantasize about nanny states, but I doubt that most Americans consider government services as the pinnacle of achievement.
Be sure to watch all the way through for a weird pander to Al Sharpton. Solis salutes him for “keeping it real.” It’s so cute when government officials try to speak slang, isn’t it? It’s probably Solis’ idea of “keeping it real,” but her speech just keeps it really liberal.
