Newsom: 'Break Glass' in Case Republicans Win

When liberals piously talk about the importance of "democracy," it strokes the egos of their supporters who believe that any political victory made by one of their opponents is illegitimate, motivated by hate, and a danger to democratic "norms."

It's all an act. We saw that in Trump's first administration, when the entire political and media elite suddenly proclaimed that the results of a democratic election must be nullified by brave #resisters in the bureaucracy, whose duty was to thwart the will of the electorate by preventing Donald Trump from governing. 

There was nothing subtle about it. The New York Times featured Anonymous, who turned out to be some nobody, as a shining example of a good public servant who took it upon himself to become a shadow president, as all good technocrats should. 

The multi-year campaign to destroy Trump's ability to govern ended with the 2020 election, morphing into a multi-year campaign to put Trump in jail. Because voters must not be allowed to make the "wrong" choice. 

Gavin Newsom is promising much the same thing in California, should the unlikely happen and the top two vote-getters in the jungle primary turn out to be Republicans.

So much for "no kings", right?

CA Governor Newsom was asked about the possibility of ending up with two Republican candidates for governor and no Democrats.  His response?

"We all have agencies. We can shape the future… I don’t anticipate this need to be the case, but there is a ‘break the glass scenario.’ 

There’s many people that have a deep understanding of what it would look like if Democrats were locked out, and we’re going to do everything to make sure that doesn’t happen. I’ll leave it there.” 

This is the guy who claims Republicans are a "threat to democracy".  Let that sink in.

The whole point of the jungle primary was to edge Republicans out entirely, by making it likely that the top two candidates would be Democrats. Already, now that the opposite is happening, Democratic operatives are working to repeal the jungle primary entirely, given the chance that it will no longer guarantee the Democratic Party wins.

Who Steve Maviglio actually is. 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐬, 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫, 𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞. This is not a grassroots ballot push. This is the California Democratic machine quietly filing paperwork to change the rules of the game now that the rules are no longer producing the result they want.

What ‘Top 2’ actually did. The jungle primary system, adopted via Prop 14 in 2010, advances the top two vote-getters regardless of party to the general election. 𝐈𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟏𝟓 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐥-𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Now that two Republicans are leading the Governor’s primary, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟐 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟏𝟓 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐭.

But Gavin Newsom is hinting at some other legal maneuver, should Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco take the top two slots in this primary season. 

None of us has any idea what that "break the glass" scenario might be, but it is telling that the Governor of California is willing to just throw it out there that there is another plan to subvert the will of the voters to ensure that the left owns the government.

The left is utterly uninterested in anything but power, and is increasingly willing to say so. They are currently attacking the Virginia and the US Supreme Courts for making the most obvious legal decisions in history with the Virginia redistricting referendum, and darkly warning of "judicial reforms" in all 50 states and at the federal level. They are talking of packing the courts, expanding the Union with DC and Puerto Rican statehood, and even hinting at civil war. 

Pravda Media is egging them on because the political, cultural, and media elite all agree: the plebs must be kept in line.
