If Democrats understood economics, they wouldn't be Democrats.
That's not to say that Republican politicians as a class are economic geniuses--more than a few Republicans will sell the economy down the river to get a few votes--but at least no Republican is dumb enough to think that socialism has ever worked outside the drug-fueled fantasy land that Democrats conjure after they smoke their child labor-grown pot.
A great example of the Democrats' ignorance was put on display just yesterday. In an attempt to knock Trump's economic policies, the Democrats tried to pin inflation on him.

Not only did the post show that inflation was under control during Trump's first term, it showed that Biden caused a really dramatic spike in inflation that is...moderating under Trump.
In other words, the chart showed the exact opposite of what the Democrats wanted to say, and they didn't even realize it because they don't understand economics, charts, numbers, or even how to lie with statistics in this case.
Any second-year college student--at least back when college taught people things--should have learned how to read a chart. In 1955, any sophomore in high school could have understood that the chart didn't say what the Democrats wanted it to. But these days, the gender studies majors are being pumped out so fast that they get jobs without knowing a damn thing.
Ironically, if you understand data presentation — and I am no genius in this realm, unlike Edward Tufte— I could have created a chart that distorted statistics to make it look like Trump's policies were a disaster. Just play around with the X and Y axes. If you start the X-axis at 2025 and hide Biden's inflation spike, you could have made a highly deceptive graph showing that Trump is raising prices.
In other words, they not only misunderstood the economics, but because they did, they couldn't even do the propaganda well. If you are going to lie with statistics, at least get a liar as proficient as Adam Schiff to craft the message.
Again, look at that chart. What moron takes the lesson that Trump caused a massive spike in prices when almost all the increase happens right after Biden's policies kick in--mid-2021?
Of course, the Democrats deleted it. What else could they do? When every wag on the internet is laughing at their stupidity, the only thing they CAN do is hide.
You could argue, I suppose, that the fault is Randi Weingarten's for creating a generation of social media gurus who are as ignorant as their views are repulsive, but as bad as that is, it is only half the story. Nothing shows up on the official @Democrats feed without vetting by the adults, who similarly don't understand basic economics or statistics.
Instead, their economic genius is Jared Bernstein, who ran Biden's Council of Economic Advisors:

Democrats speak with absolute confidence and a sense of superiority when, in reality, they have absolutely no idea what they are saying. The wonder is that anybody takes them seriously at all.
Arguing with Democrats is like arguing with Vizzini in the Princess Bride. Utter confidence in their utter ignorance. Unfortunately, unlike Vizzini, the victims of their idiocy are not themselves but the people over whom they rule when in office.
Vizzini had the good grace to leave the scene and in doing so leave everybody else better off. In the real world the economic halfwits of the Democratic Party leave the rest of us worse off.
